🚨 Migration Update 🚨 TLDR: The $ML migration tool will stay open for 6 more months, until November 1, 2026. It will progressively slow down. After that date, non-migrated ML tokens will remain locked on the Ethereum smart contract. We will not burn them. Hello Mintlayer community, The $ML migration tool was scheduled to be shut down on April 30th. Given the amount of $ML tokens still circulating, and after receiving requests from community members and exchanges, we have decided to postpone the final dismissal by 6 months. During this period, we will progressively slow down the migration process: 🔹 May 1 to May 22, 2026: tool operates regularly 🔹 May 22 to August 1, 2026: requests processed once per week 🔹 August 1 to November 1, 2026: requests processed every 2 weeks 🔹 November 1, 2026: migration tool permanently closed 🚨 What this means for you If you still hold $ML tokens (ERC20), please plan your migration accordingly. The sooner you migrate, the sooner your request will be processed and converted into $ML coins on mainnet. We are also coordinating with exchanges to phase out ERC20 $ML token support for withdrawals during this window. 🚨 After November 1, 2026 $ML tokens that have not been migrated will remain locked on the original Ethereum smart contract and will no longer be accessible through the migration tool. At that point, we will also update the official tokenomics to reflect the exact number of non-migrated tokens. 🚨 On burning unmigrated tokens Some community members have asked us to burn the unmigrated tokens. We will not do this. Burning is a voluntary action by the token holder, and it is neither something we want to enforce nor something we can enforce. Every holder retains the right to their tokens, and the choice to migrate, hold, or burn is theirs alone. For any questions, please reach out through our official channels only.
