GPTs (short for 'Generative Pre-trained Transformers') are advanced A.I. assistants designed to address various tasks you might be dealing with. ChatGPT was developed by OpenAI, and is taking the world by storm with its massive capabilities.
This weekend, I finally got a chance to play around with the platform and designed a few GPTs of my own, specifically for English learning, and you are among the first people to try it out, if you'd like to!
So, the way I configured them is that you get to practice speaking and writing at the level that is most suitable for you. You can ask GPT to share some new words, generate a text for you to read, or just speak with the A.I. (through their mobile application). It's that simple! No more panic attacks in group English class, you can even ask it to translate into your language or explain anything in more simple terms. It will adjust itself and the vocabulary to your speaking comfort level.

The sun's energy was captured, changed, and used all over Earth. Everyone stopped using coal and uranium and started using a small station, as big as a mile across, that went around Earth. It was not as far as the Moon. This station used the sun's power to run everything on Earth.
Even after a week, this was still amazing. Adell and Lupov finally got away from their busy work. They met in a quiet, empty place underground. This was where parts of Multivac, a big computer, were. It was resting, sorting data slowly and happily. Multivac was on a break, and they knew it deserved it. They didn't plan to bother it.
Adell and Lupov brought a bottle with them. They just wanted to relax and enjoy the bottle and each other's company.
Adell said, "It's amazing to think about it. We have so much energy for free. We can use it to do big things, like melting the Earth, and we will still have a lot of energy left. We will never run out of this energy."
Lupov, who was feeling a bit annoyed because he had to carry the ice and glasses, disagreed. He said, "That's not true forever."
Adell replied, "Well, it's almost forever. Until the sun stops shining."
"That's not forever," Lupov said.
"Okay, but it's for billions of years. Are you happy now?"
Lupov put his fingers through his thinning hair as though to reassure himself that some was still left and sipped gently at his own drink. "But that's still not forever."...

The last question was first asked as a joke on May 21, 2061. This was when humans started making big progress. It started with a five-dollar bet during a drink, and this is how it happened:
Alexander Adell and Bertram Lupov worked closely with Multivac, a huge computer. They understood some of what was behind its big, complex, machine-like face. This computer was so big and complex that no single person could understand it completely.
Multivac could fix and adjust itself. This was important because no person could do it fast or well enough. So, Adell and Lupov only helped Multivac in small ways, but they did their best. They put in information, made sure the questions were right for it, and interpreted the answers it gave. They, and others who worked with Multivac, deserved to be proud of being a part of it.
For many years, Multivac helped make ships and plan their paths to the Moon, Mars, and Venus. But Earth did not have enough resources to go farther. The trips were too long and needed too much energy. Earth used its coal and uranium well, but there was only a limited amount of these.
But gradually, Multivac learned more and could answer bigger questions. On May 14, 2061, a theory became true.
