My day of fasting did not go the way I thought it would.
Because there has been a heaviness in the air, (you can feel it, right?) I thought I would feel somber and lie prostrate for long’ish periods of time before the LORD.
In the morning as I was getting ready to face the Animated World (and by Animated World, I mean my kids), the Holy Spirit laid on my heart one word: heal.
Instead of wearing a veil of grief, I was blanketed with His peace.
Instead of feeling somber, I felt hope.

Day 18
Father God - Help us to settle quietly and contentedly against You.
We know that You are the storm, Father because though Your mercy lasts, You must uproot evil.
We know that You will shelter us from the furious winds, pelting rains, and deafening tumult. Help us navigate in the aftermath and give us the strength and courage to rebuild.
We look to You for guidance and we know that You will lead those who love You out from bondage.
Prepare our homes, settle our minds, and amend our hearts.
We pray to You in the name of Jesus.

Day 17
Father God - Your servants, Your saints, Your children, come before You with heavy hearts. Holy Spirit, moan on our behalf to the Most High, presenting Him with the words that demonstrate our contriteness, gratitude, and hope. We petition the Heavenly realm to intervene and redeem America, in the name of Jesus. We ask for the Spirit of the LORD to move across this nation to change hearts, reconcile families, and revive the churches.
Bring the wayward home, Father, and heal and protect our families, neighborhoods, and communities.
Call forward leaders who submit to Your ways. Bring us safely through these turbulent times.
We ask for Your forgiveness and we ask for justice for the evil that has been perpetrated against the unwilling. Today we are fasting and making our requests known to the only One with the authority over our lives.
We pray to you because the Passion of Jesus Christ allows us to approach You directly.

Tomorrow, July 17, I will be fasting. Ask God if this is something He would have you do as well.
Some of you require sustenance at certain intervals -this is perfectly acceptable.
Some of you may wonder what to bring before God. If you're not sure, use this day/time to simply praise Him! Tell Him how you love Him and thank Him for all the good He has done in your life. We are children of the Most High so we go before Him with confidence in His love for us.
How you fast is between you and the LORD so ask the Holy Spirit for guidance.

Day 16
Father God - Prepare our minds and bodies, and our spirits for the fasting ahead of us. Guide our words and amend our own cynical and negative thoughts.
We praise You for the good things You have done -and will do! We praise You for Your thoughtfulness and care. We praise You for Your faithfulness and promises. We praise You for loving us -the unlovable, the doubting, the foolish, the stubborn. You demonstrate Your constancy in our lives in observable and substantial ways.
You are honest and true and holy and You deserve all honor. You are magnificent and beautiful. We worship the Creator Who awes us with His artistry and wisdom.
We thankfully accept Your mighty power and everlasting love into our lives! We abide in You, content and delighted.
In the name of Jesus we pray.

Day 16
Father God – Help us to abide. To rest under Your wings. To sit and learn at Your feet. Let what leaves our mouths and hands bring You glory and us contentment.
In the name of Jesus we pray.
Read Psalm 91 how the LORD instructs
“He added the words, ‘I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’ The same principle stands for all His servants, for all time: without the experience of His presence with us, our preaching has no power. The secret of our strength is the living testimony that Jesus Christ is every moment with us, inspiring, directing and strengthening us.
This is what made the disciples so bold in preaching Him as the Crucified One in the midst of His enemies. They never for a moment regretted His bodily absence, for they had Him with them, and in them, in the divine power of the Holy Spirit.
… everything depends … through a living faith, of the abiding presence of the LORD with His servant.
Nothing can bring back the power and blessing but a return to the Master’s feet so that He may breathe into the heart, in divine power His blessed word, “I am with you always!”

Father, You know everything about us, and yet You love us. How comforting this is! Yours is the kind of love that challenges and graciously grows us. You convict us by the Holy Spirit so that we might grow in humble love for You and others.
We confess we try to know. We try to control the ways our future might unfold. We long for humble perseverance like Job in the face of suffering. And we have seen what You, the Lord, finally bring about. Surely, what can any of us know, have, or accomplish apart from Your Grace?
Thank You, Lord, for bestowing endless compassion and mercy upon us. Thank You that we can come to You in prayer and that You hear us, Lord. Thank You for Your wise and timely justice and Your faithful provision.
May we know what it is to wait on You, Father. Like "the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop," develop that kind of patience in us. Be our Comforter when our plans don't work out as hoped. Meet us in our disappointment. Meet us in our confusion. In Your love, remind us we are but a mist, here today gone tomorrow, and that You know our future.
May we make humble plans, Father. Speak to us in our attitudes towards wealth that we might live simply. In our suffering, help us to stand firm, remain patient, and refuse to grumble. Give us eyes to perceive and hearts to believe You’re still at work. Teach us to pray at all times and in all seasons, trusting You. Draw us nearer, and by the Spirit, transform us more and more, little by little, according to the image of Your Son. Help us not to boast in our ways but in Your grace alone.
In Jesus' Name, Amen.
This from my Word Go study today. Thought it to be timely

In Christ's name we humbly and lovingly and wholly call upon You.

I had a prayer ready to post for Day 14. However, after the appalling event in Pennsylvania, I want to re-think and pray over what the Lord would have me post.
We witnessed a true hand of God moment, friends.

Day 13
Father God - I'm riled. I feel the anger of someone who longs to see You mete out Your perfect justice against those who loathe Your truth and Your ways. I am angry that demonic forces heckle and harass.
I pray over myself, my family, my friends, and anyone who reads these words, asking and expecting Your divine protection, in the name of Jesus! Keep us from the enemy's treachery and cunning. Shield us from any enticements that keep our hearts and eyes away from You.
I call out to You right now, in the name of Jesus, asking for supernatural defense against all forms of evilness.
We run to You, our Stronghold, because of Your custodianship over us! We find contentment and shelter under Your wings, Father, and thank You that we can claim that place under Your protective feathers.
It is in the mighty name of Jesus I petition for Your security!

Day 12
Psalm 6
O Lord, rebuke me not in your anger,
nor discipline me in your wrath.
2 Be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am languishing;
heal me, O Lord, for my bones are troubled.
3 My soul also is greatly troubled.
But you, O Lord—how long?
4 Turn, O Lord, deliver my life;
save me for the sake of your steadfast love.
5 For in death there is no remembrance of you;
in Sheol who will give you praise?
6 I am weary with my moaning;
every night I flood my bed with tears;
I drench my couch with my weeping.
7 My eye wastes away because of grief;
it grows weak because of all my foes.
8 Depart from me, all you workers of evil,
for the Lord has heard the sound of my weeping.
9 The Lord has heard my plea;
the Lord accepts my prayer.
10 All my enemies shall be ashamed and greatly troubled;
they shall turn back and be put to shame in a moment.
