Came across an article about the January 6th political prisoners singing our National Anthem every night at 9 pm. I found the original source, however there is no information as to how an audio was captured. On the one hand, the audio of their singing cannot be verified. On the other hand, I suppose we don't want to let the Powers That Be know how it was obtained. 👆🏻 Other things men can’t do: - Watch 157 consecutive hours of Jane Austen style movies - Multitask - Love the smell of pumpkin spice - Be right even when wrong - Go into Hobby Lobby for 1 item and leave with 20 items - Bloat - Lie in bed thinking of everything you did wrong that day... and at that holiday party 14 years ago - Recall details - Say “fine” when everything is not fine - Ovulate - Make casseroles - Spend 45 minutes looking at different shampoos; go to the soap isle and spend another 45 minutes smelling soaps - Crave super sugary coffee drinks - Hold a baby properly on their hip - Be a chauffeur, referee, nurse, disciplinarian, life counselor, banker, chef, cleaning lady, laundry lady and all around maven *simultaneously* - Wonder if their elbows look fatter Lastly, and I cannot stress enough how this is a sticking point... - Give birth to a human baby

Where does your heart feel pulled? Animal shelters, assisted living, libraries, NICU, food pantries and outreach programs all need volunteers. Though many may still have stringent covid protocols there are plenty of opportunities to get involved. I bring up these ideas to point out that sometimes we can be in what may seem like a minor position, but it has significance. It’s not about me, or you, or our positions; it’s about promoting freedom, and stifling the ne’er-do-wells, and even the Stasi outright. You never know you whose mind you can influence and what ripple effect that it will have.

Another consideration is to homeschool, or support the homeschool community. This is how our family promotes freedom! We are deliberately raising free and independent thinkers who are learning self-reliance and self-determination. I will never, ever regret homeschooling our kiddos! A few years ago I was presented with the opportunity to join the school board of a local homeschool association (it’s not a paid position –we’re all volunteers). It’s a privilege to coordinate events and field trips, and provide these incredible students with opportunities to tap into their imaginations and stretch their brain capacity. There are homeschool organizations all over the country who are in need of volunteers. Do you have a handicraft or skill you can teach students? Can you judge a spelling bee, geography bee or an art contest? Homeschoolers need Freedom Lovers!

Some of us live in HOA-type neighborhoods. Have you contemplated running for the board? About 5 years ago a couple who ran the Neighborhood Watch of sorts (we don’t have a HOA) announced at a quarterly meeting that they wanted to retire. They are the usual statists so I immediately volunteered to take over the duties they oversaw. This stepping up allowed me to: - Welcome new neighbors - Start an annual fall festival - Get a Little Free Library for our neighborhood - Help get a farmer’s market up and running - Create and operate a neighborhood website (which allows me to offer a friendly way to present critical thought for those who get super emotional over non-existent threats) - Design and distribute newsletters with pertinent information (this was crucial during covid) - Collect donations (the money is typically used to make donations in lieu of flowers for neighbors who have passed) All of the above are deliberate actions taken to get us to connect with one another. More importantly, I was able to: - Stop the collection of private information via a Neighborhood Watch form other neighbors had created - Block police cameras from being installed - Have road repairs done - Got an abandoned building at the front entrance taken care of - Prevent invasive emails from being sent* *Since I am the one who sends out emails to the neighborhood, folks need to go through me to have something sent out. This past 4th of July a neighbor reached out asking me to send out an email to tell folks not to set off any fireworks. I did no such thing, sending her a diplomatic, but polite no thank you. I cringe to think how issues, especially the covid situation, would have been handled by the previous liberals! Volunteering like this also puts me in a position to influence what a neighborhood response should be in the event of a national crisis. In fact, I’ve been gaming out different scenarios -learning who I can count on to protect our neighborhood, and how we’ll communicate with one another if there’s an extended power outage. You know, just some light and easy thinking in the middle of night.

We see all around us people standing up at school board meetings, stepping up for events or throwing their hats in the political ring. Some of us may feel guilt that we’re not doing enough. While that could be an indicator that we should do something, it doesn’t mean we need to do something on a grander scale. And certainly do not let a twinge of guilt incapacitate you from doing nothing! Previously I posted some ideas about what we can do (which I will repost soon for those who may have missed it). However, here are some other considerations.
