"Salafīs" who never read a basic Ashʿarī ʿaqidah text, or read but are dishonest, claiming we believe Allāh (ﷻ) is "everywhere" (i.e. in all places). When we ask them to prove their claim that nothing could exist unless it exists in a place, they become dumbfounded. ʿAllāmah Saʿd al-Dīn al-Taftāzānī stated: ❝Allāh [exalted is He] is free from being in a place [makān]. Due to this, He is also free from being in a direction [jihat, simt]. Similarly, he is free from being above or below.❞ — [Sharḥ al-ʿAqāiʾd, (p. 60)] Imām Fakhr al-Dīn al-Rāzī said: ❝Know that we claim the existence of a being to Whom it is not possible to point, as being “here” or “there.” Or [in other words,] we say: we claim the existence of a being not specific to any of the spatial locations or directions. Or, [in still other words,] we say: we claim the existence of a being neither contained in the world nor apart from it in any of the six directions which the world has.❞ — [Asās al-Taqdīs].

Abu Rauh Haatim bin Yusuf relates an incident, "I went to the house of al Fudail bin 'Ayyad رحمه الله, and after greeting him said, "O Abu Ali, I have fifty ahadith that I'd like you to go over with me. So, if you give me permission, I can read them out aloud to you." He agreed to it. So, I started reading out from my collection, but rather than stopping at fifty, read ten extra ahadith to him. At this, Abu Fudail رحمه الله became very angry and said, "أفٍ...قم يا بني تعلم الصدق، ثم اكتب الحديث" "Stand up, my boy! Learn truthfulness, then write hadith" ‌‎من كتاب "تاريخ دمشق" لإبن عساكر
