The current crypto capital gains tax rate is approximately 31.4%. - The committee also approved an exit tax for people holding more than €800,000 in crypto who leave France. - A proposal to impose a personal wealth tax on crypto was rejected. These measures are not yet law and must still pass further parliamentary stages. Swapping into stablecoins would no longer be a way to defer tax.
