Am I in the military? Well not yet. But after I graduate high school I’m going to join the navy to become a SEAL medic. Once I get to the teams, I’ll do a couple pumps vanilla side before heading to green team. Assuming I pass selection first try (I don’t see why I wouldn’t), I’ll finish up my enlistment kicking down doors and scalping hajis. After my enlistments ends, I’ll reenlist into the Air Force and go through the PJ pipeline and head straight into the 24th. Once I’m there, I’ll do a deployment or two and then go take the long walk and head over to CAG and become a sniper. At that point I will be in my mid 30s so I will retire and contract for an “OGA.” After I make a shit ton of money contracting, I will use my connections to join the FBI and get assigned to HRT.

>need to print out warranty slip for leatherman >open up email on PC >can’t easily save printing slip as PDF (it was just in the body of email) >finally do it in a round about way >open up Foxit Reader (no organic PDF viewer on PC) >can’t crop extra BS out of frame >tinker with it, can’t do it >open up email on MacBook >immediately save as PDF >crop with two clicks >print and fit it all on a page Why is PC worse at everything short of playing video games

Longish-term review of the countycomm.gov Maratac Pilot titanium automatic: I’ve had this one since this winter that I bought off a friend, and it has performed well. I like the pilot style because the big numerals are easy to tell time, and the classic B-Uhr type A style looks good. No day/date which I do prefer, and the movement is an upgraded Miyota 9015 24 jewel. It has a ghost date position, and is hackable. Speaking of the movement, it’s rated for -10 - +30 seconds a day, though mine is on the higher end for the plus and runs a bit fast. The Maratac watches are highly antimagnetic, water resistant, and the titanium case and sapphire crystal makes this extremely durable and usable. They also have incredible lume, so being outside makes them easy to see when night rolls around. All in all, a great pilot watch and my second Maratac watch. I love them, and countycomm.gov has them.

It seems like every day there’s another “tool” being sold like knick knacks. This is mainly watches, guns, and nylon gear. Trends rip through these circles and last month’s “must have” gets sold to fund this month’s. One should ask themselves “Do the items being advertised fill an actual need I have? Or did the advertisers convince me that I have a new need that only they can fill?” This isn’t to discourage people from buying/trying new things for their own end goals, I obviously have my share of buying and selling gear, and sometimes we draw inspiration from past proven things or things that remind us of a seemingly simpler time or movies/video games that we like. But this metric helps fight against the cinematic intros to videos that portray a certain niche scenario driven problem that they have the perfect solution for. If you go your whole life up to this point content with what you own and use, and suddenly you get told that you *need* influencer_brand watch, or “X_dynamic_concepts” pouch, or an acronym of buzzwords rifle build, do you actually need it?

Saw this on a 90s vaporwave video I was listening to at work. It's an interesting point that we often see things that talk about "I wish I knew when I was in the good times" but even when times are "bad" we can look back at them with fondness. I remember when my wife and I just started dating and I was living in a house with roommates that I didn't like living with, but sometimes I look back on the simplicity of the time. After that I think of during the time I was unemployed, and how much time I was able to spend outside and with my wife (then girlfriend). The past will always be romanticized to a degree as we look back on it and focus on the positive aspects, and the present can be romanticized at the time as we look at all of our blessings vs focus on everything that is bad all of the time. Sure, it sucks that I just had to pay $80 two days in a row to fill up both of our vehicles, but we are blessed to have two vehicles and a family to drive around. Sure, it sucks that our politicians don't care for us over their own self gain, and most are corrupted to the point of being involved in a large network of traffickers that probably eat babies, but think of how many close friends we've made looking for people to get together with to train or have as mutual aid, how many people are being brought to (or back to) the faith because of it, and how the chicken quesadilla from taco bell exists still... you get the point. Enjoy the time we have now and the post right above this quoting St Teresa of Avila also ties into this.

Happy Feast of St. Monica. May her tears and supplications be of avail to our sanctification and the preservation of our soul unto life everlasting.

"They [Docetists] abstain from the Eucharist and from prayer, because they confess not the Eucharist to be the flesh of our Saviour Jesus Christ, which suffered for our sins, and which the Father, of His goodness, raised up again. Those, therefore, who speak against this gift of God, incur death in the midst of their disputes." — St. Ignatius of Antioch, Epistle to the Smyrnaeans, ch. VII

Something that took me a while to warm up to but now I love is the level 5 PCU. It’s a soft shell jacket, between the level 4 windshirt and level 6 hard shell, but it works great all year long outside of heavy near freezing rain. Summertime it breathes better than a goretex shell, and dries quickly if soaked, and wintertime it allows you to not overheat while being protected by the wind and snow. Since it’s a soft shell, it doesn’t make the “swishing” sound like goretex does. The PCU series is made mainly by Patagonia, and the reason why the level 5 shines above commercial options is because it’s not fleece lined and the soft shell is thinner and not as stiff as most soft shells that you get off the commercial market. If you open the pockets you get the ability to vent so it’ll cool you, and since they’re DWR treated they make a great replacement to the field shirt in wintertime. Most of these come in gray, AOR1, and Multicam, and have since been replaced by the ECWCS system. These also shine over commercial soft shells for being NIR compliant and having loop fields on the sleeves. We got these off of the Tactical Traders site on eBay, and I highly recommend checking them out as they accept offers and have free shipping that ships quick. All in all, using these and replacing your tarp with a poncho for heavy rain makes a better and lighter overall system. ebay.us/m/mGJXFh is the Tactical Trader’s store
