Imagine not being able to use your dominant hand and teaching yourself to use the other! Sounds scary, right? For Sarika AK, a resident of Kozhikode, Kerala, this is a way of life. Strongly defying limitations created by Cerebral Palsy that restricts her dominant hand, she achieved a remarkable feat. She cracked the UPSC CSE on her second attempt with a commendable rank of 922! Navigating the world with her left hand, which also controls her wheelchair, Sarika boldly stepped forward to prepare for the tough exam with the help of Project Chithrashalabham, a free Civil Service coaching programme for students with disabilities. Offered by the Absolute IAS Academy, it played a vital role in her journey. With their support, most of Sarika's training happened online, with additional offline classes held in Thiruvananthapuram.
