I’m actually fine with Bannon and Musk throwing up the “roman salute.” It’s obviously dishonest but the general liberalization of attitudes towards “edgelord” politics is good for us. For my entire life, there was no stigma or social consequence associated with radical left wing politics. It’s about time there were similar attitudes about radical right wing politics. If the Left can get away with winking at communism and liberation ideology, then the Right should be able to wink at fascism. As far as I’m concerned it just opens up the playing field.
