So, it’s in best interest of Pakistan to make peace with TTP a success, even if it includes taking some hard decisions. Taliban in Kabul trying to run the country, US gone, TTP tired, not at its strongest, major spoilers chased away, a golden opportunity that must not be wasted.
I have already seen some evidence of fighters who fought for IEA until August switching to TTP ranks to provide their jihadi services. A TTP fighter recently killed in North Waziristan turned out to be a member of IEA from Paktia province of Afghanistan.
In that case, I expect a major recruitment for TTP from IEA foot soldiers, which would mean TTP’s strength and striking capabilities are amplified by exponential rates.
