| 3 |  Djibouti Receives Largest Container Ship in Its History
Djibouti's Doraleh container terminal received the largest vessel in its history on Tuesday with the arrival of the 400-metre MV Benjamin Franklin, state media ADI reported.
The container ship, capable of carrying 18,000 twenty-foot equivalent units, docked at about 7 p.m. local time with a draft of 17 metres, according to ADI.
Four tugboats - Omar Dankali, Barkat Hamadou, Farah Hassan and Saad Warsama - each with a 65-tonne bollard pull, assisted the berthing operation handled by a Djibouti port pilot.

Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthis attacked a vessel off Saudi Arabia’s port city of Yanbu in the Red Sea, the group's military spokesperson Yahya Saree said in a televised speech on Monday.

| 10 |  Iran says Hormuz shipping deal nears completion, but U.S. must meet conditions
Iran said an agreement with Oman establishing new shipping lanes through the Strait of Hormuz is nearing completion, but warned that the critical energy corridor won’t reopen until the United States meets a broader set of demands, Reuters reported.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said Sunday that the shipping agreement was in its final stages. The arrangement would establish routes for vessels to use if and when commercial traffic resumes.
Before its closure, the Strait of Hormuz handled about one-fifth of global oil and liquefied natural gas shipments.
Iran blocked the waterway following U.S. and Israeli attacks. Washington and Tehran reached a ceasefire in June, but tensions escalated again after the U.S. reimposed a blockade on Iranian shipping in the Gulf in July.

| 15 |  Saudi Arabia launches the world’s largest truck marshalling area at Jeddah port
JEDDAH: Saudi Arabia has inaugurated the world’s largest truck marshalling area, spanning 1 million sq. meters, at Jeddah Islamic Port while the Saudi Ports Authority signed seven agreements with companies worth investments exceeding SR1 billion ($266.9 million) on the sidelines of the launch.
The marshalling area, inaugurated by Minister of Transport and Logistics Services Saleh Al-Jasser, has been designated as the first transit point for trucks heading to Jeddah Port before proceeding to gates 4-9, and will increase operational capacity, reduce congestion, and improve the flow of truck traffic.

| 17 |  7000 TEU container vessel "GFS Galaxy" was hit by an Iranian attack whilst transiting the Strait of Hormuz. Reports from UKMTO this morning states the vessel was hit aft causing a fire onboard. Crew has abandoned the ship into a lifeboat.
The vessel is owned and operated by Global Feeder Shipping, itself owned by Abu Dhabi Ports Group in UAE. It was transiting outbound on the GALEX service connecting Jebel Ali, Dammam and Bahrain to Port Klang, Dachan Bay, Xiamen, Qingdao and Busan.
As a consequence, US has initiated new large scale attacks on Iran.
In return, Iran has now declared the Strait of Hormuz closed.
Attacks are still ongoing at the time of writing this update (05:00 CET), and Iran has launched attacks on facilities in Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, UAE and Jordan.

| 18 |  Maersk to Restore Second Route with US-Flagged Vessels in the Suez-Red Sea
Days after reporting it would begin a gradual resumption of routes transiting the Suez Canal and the Red Sea, Maersk announced plans for a second route to resume the transits. The company, so far, has stuck to its plans to restore a few routes while saying it continues to monitor the security situation and has contingency plans in place.
The second route to resume the transits is one operated with U.S.-flagged vessels sailing from the East Coast of the United States to the Middle East and India. The Maersk Denver (6,200 TEU), which is currently heading to India, will make the first westbound sailing. The Maserk Chicago (6,188 TEU), which has recently departed Tangier Med and just entered the Mediterranean via Gibraltar, will make the first eastbound transit early next week.

| 20 |  CMA CGM set to overtake Maersk next year
CMA CGM is on course to overtake Maersk as the world’s second-largest containerline by the end of 2027.
Speaking to French business daily Les Echos last week, CMA CGM chairman and chief executive Rodolphe Saadé said the Marseille-headquartered carrier is on track to move past its Danish rival within the next 18 months.
The end-2027 date might appear conservative. Based on Linerlytica data, CMA CGM will overtake Maersk by July 2027.
The shift has been visible for some time. Mediterranean Shipping Co (MSC) has already opened up a commanding lead at the top of the liner rankings, while Maersk has pursued a more disciplined fleet strategy as it pushes deeper into integrated logistics. CMA CGM, by contrast, has continued to add capacity aggressively while expanding its terminals, logistics, air cargo and inland transport interests.
