A Principle to Share With Well Wishes Who Innocently Share Unauthentic Supplications or Congratulate With “Jumu’ah Mubarak”
Acts of Worship Must Fulfil Two Conditions
Al-Allamah Abdul Muhsin Al-Abbad, may Allah preserve him, said:
Al-Allamah Abdul Muhsin Al-Abbad, may Allah preserve him, said: “The initial ruling regarding acts of worship is that neither are they permissible nor legislated, except when there is proof to show that they are legislated by Allah and His Messenger; otherwise they are included in the statement of Allah: [أَمۡ لَهُمۡ شُرَڪَـٰٓؤُاْ شَرَعُواْ لَهُم مِّنَ ٱلدِّينِ مَا لَمۡ يَأۡذَنۢ بِهِ ٱللَّهُۚ – Or have they partners with Allah (false gods), who have instituted for them a religion which Allah has not allowed?!]”
Two conditions must be fulfilled for an act of worship to be accepted; the first of the two conditions is that the act of worship must be done sincerely for Allah, and secondly the act of worship must be in agreement with the Sunnah of the Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. The act of worship has to be done sincerely for the sake of Allah (alone) and no one is to be associated as a partner with Allah in worship. The act of worship must be done in conformity with what the Messenger conveyed (the Qur’an and the Sunnah). This is what the Shahadah (لا إله إلا الله محمدا رسول الله) necessitates. (لا إله إلا الله) necessitates that acts of worship must be carried out sincerely for the sake of Allah alone; and (محمدا رسول الله) necessitates that acts of worship must be carried out in conformity with what was revealed to the noble Messenger. Therefore, Allah is not to be worshipped with bidah, newly invented matters in Religion, and evil acts, for which Allah [The Most High] has sent down no authority; rather acts of worship must conform with the Sunnah of the noble Messenger. If any of these two conditions or both of them are not fulfilled, the act of worship will be rejected by Allah [The Mighty and Majestic] says: [وَقَدِمۡنَآ إِلَىٰ مَا عَمِلُواْ مِنۡ عَمَلٍ۬ فَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُ هَبَآءً۬ مَّنثُورً – And We shall turn to whatever deeds they disbelievers, polytheists] did, and We shall make such deeds as scattered floating particles of dust] [Soorah Al-Furqaan. Ayah 23]

📝Al-ʿAllāmah ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Nāṣir al-Saʿdī -رحمه الله تعالى-
•Imām ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Nāṣir al-Saʿdī (d. 1376 AH) said:
“[The difference between an individual with īmān and a person who is lacking it] is actualised through experience. If you were to contemplate and analyse the conditions of mankind, you would see a great difference between the example set by the muʾmin who acts in light of his īmān and a person who lacks [īmān]. This dīn encourages, to the highest degree, true satisfaction with the varieties of provision, bounties, and graciousness granted by Allāh.
So when tested with sickness, poverty, or some other [hardship] that can afflict any individual, the muʾmin will have comfort in his eyes because of his īmān, the satisfaction he possesses, and the pleasure he has with the provision of Allāh.
Imām ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Nāṣir al-Saʿdī
His heart does not try to seek that which he realises has not been ordained for him. He always looks at those who are less fortunate than he is, rather than those above him.
It is also possible that his delight, happiness, and calmness exceeds even the one who has been given every valuable thing in this worldly life. For [this person] may not hold satisfaction in his heart like the muʾmin.
You will also find that when the one who does not act according to his īmān is tested with poverty or the loss of some valuable commodity from this worldly life, his condition becomes abhorrent and he is full of sadness and depression.”

▫️Al-ʿAllāmah Muḥammad ibn Ṣāliḥ al-ʿUthaymīn -رحمه الله تعالى-
Shaykh Ibn ʿUthaymīn رحمه الله:
The Messenger of Allāh (صلى الله عليه وسلم) gave us an important and beneficial principle when he said, “Indeed, when Allāh makes something ḥarām, he makes its earning ḥarām”. This principle is general and applies across various forms of transactions, including selling, renting, offering rewards (jaʿālat), sharecropping contracts (musāqāt) and agricultural agreements (muzāraʿah).
Whenever Allāh makes something ḥarām, he makes its earning ḥarām as well. This is the evidence we use to say it is not permissible to rent shops to those who shave beards (i.e., most barbers). This rental agreement is considered ḥarām because they receive payment from prohibited profits and the Messenger of Allāh (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said, “Indeed, when Allāh makes something ḥarām, he makes its earning ḥarām”.

| 17 | 🔖Must Surat Ul-Baqarah Be Recited Or Is Playing A Recorder Sufficient To Expel The Shaytaan From The Home
Many people often ask regarding the narration that the Shaytaan is expelled from a home that Surat ul-Baqarah is recited within; whether it is a must to actually have to recite, or if it is possible to simply play a recording of Surat ul-Baqarah on some electronic device?
•The following is the response of Shaikh Ibn ul-Uthaymeen رحمه الله تعالى:
▪️Question:
Oh Shaikh, there is a hadith from the prophet صلى الله عليه و سلم that if a person recites Surat ul-Baqarah in his home then the Shaytaan cannot enter, but if the Surah was recorded on a cassette [or any other electronic means, and then played] then does the same still occur? [i.e. is that sufficient to prevent the Shaytaan from entering?]
▫️Answer:
No…no…an audio recording is nothing, it doesn’t benefit [in this regard], it cannot be said he [the house resident in this instance] has recited the Qur’an [since the hadith mentions “the one who recites…”], all that can be said is he has listened to a previous reciter on the recording.
Therefore, similarly if we were to record the adhaan [call to prayer] and then leave it at the microphone to play when the time for adhaan enters, then is that sufficient and fulfilling to the right of the adhaan? It is not fulfilling the right….and similarly if we were to record an inspiring and moving khutba of a khateeb and then when Friday comes we play it on the microphone and so the recording starts, “Assalamu ‘alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu[!] then the mu’adhin makes the adhaan and then the khutba begins [on the recorder]…then is that fulfilling the obligation? No, it is not.”

🔺In other various fataawa the scholars have mentioned that one of the reasons for this is because the recitation of the Qur’an is an act of worship and therefore an intention is required, and clearly the electronic device has no intention, or indeed any ability to make an intention. Similarly the Permanent Committee of Scholars mentioned it is not correct to play a recording of the Qur’an for ruqya purposes, rather it requires intention from the reader which the recorder does not have.
