Statement 1 is correct. T cells are a type of white blood cell (lymphocyte) crucial to adaptive immunity. While they originate as progenitor cells in the bone marrow, they migrate to the thymus to mature, hence the name "T cells." In the thymus, T cells undergo processes to ensure they can recognize foreign pathogens while sparing the body’s own tissues, a fundamental aspect of immune tolerance. Statement 2 is correct. Helper T cells (often called CD4+ T cells) play a regulatory role in the immune response. They do not directly kill pathogens; instead, they release cytokines that stimulate B cells to produce antibodies and activate other immune cells like macrophages. Helper T cells are thus vital for initiating and sustaining immune responses against various infections. Statement 3 is correct. Cytotoxic T cells (CD8+ T cells) are another major subtype responsible for directly attacking and killing infected or cancerous cells. They recognize infected cells by detecting viral or other abnormal proteins on the cell surface, specifically bound to major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules. Once identified, cytotoxic T cells release enzymes that induce cell death, effectively controlling infections and eliminating harmful cells.

Statement 1 is incorrect: The Right to Property was recognized as a fundamental right in the original constitution, however, the First Amendment (1951) amended the provisions to address agrarian reforms and social inequalities. The 44th Amendment (1978) repealed the fundamental right to property, and added Article 300-A to acknowledge the right to property as a legal rather than a fundamental right. Statement 2 is incorrect: In the Property Owners Association & Ors. v. State of Maharashtra & Ors case, the court clarified that Article 39(b) defines "material resources of the community", may include some privately owned resources, but this must be identified on a case-by-case basis, by considering the nature of the resource, impact on the welfare of the community, the scarcity of resources, and the effects of its concentration in private hands.
