He then asked about the most learned man in the earth. He was directed to a scholar. He told him that he had killed one hundred people and asked him if there was any chance for his repentance to be accepted. He replied in the affirmative and asked, Who stands between you and repentance? Go to such and such land; there (you will find) people devoted to prayer and worship of Allah, join them in worship, and do not come back to your land because it is an evil place.’ So he went away and hardly had he covered half the distance when death overtook him; and there was a dispute between the angels of mercy and the angels of torment. The angels of mercy pleaded, ‘This man has come with a repenting heart to Allah,’ and the angels of punishment argued, ‘He never did a virtuous deed in his life.’ Then there appeared another angel in the form of a human being and the contending angels agreed to make him arbiter between them. He said, Measure the distance between the two lands. He will be considered belonging to the land to which he is nearer.’ They measured and found him closer to the land (land of piety) where he intended to go, and so the angels of mercy collected his soul ”. 📚 [Al Bukhari and Muslim] ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ⚠️ A REMINDER Note: This does not mean that we can continue sinning and expect to be forgiven without asking for forgiveness and trying to give up sin, as The Prophet (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, 📜 “A wise man is one who calls himself to account (and refrains from doing evil deeds) and does noble deeds that will benefit him after death, and the foolish person is one who subdues himself to his desires and hopes for forgiveness from Allah. [Riyaad us Saliheen] 🌿 We need to try to give up sinning and if we do slip and sin then we should ask Allah Ta'ala for forgiveness and give up the sin. If we are addicted to some sin then we should keep trying our best to give up, and keep asking for forgiveness for our sin, but we should never give up hope in the mercy of Allah Ta‘ala. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 📢 No Copyright. 🌙✨ Losing Hope in the Mercy of Allah Ta‘ala ✨🌙 (and the story of the man who killed 99 people) 🔗 https://chat.whatsapp.com/Iy3vhNNgfIW4A2RvbtmKAf?s=cl&p=a&ilr=1 ╔══════════════════╗ 🌌 A Moment of Despair ╚══════════════════╝ She sat at the corner of her sofa gazing out her window towards the night sky. She tilted her head slowly to the right sighing. Her thoughts were deep and her eyes tired. 💭 “How many missed prayers am I still trying to make up for? How many fasts have I intentionally broken? How many arguments have I had with my parents? How many times have I lied? How many times have I backbitten? How many times have I cursed? How many times have I sinned?” 😔 Hopeless, she felt. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Many, if not all of us have experienced this moment; the overwhelming feeling that our sins are just too much, being physically and mentally exhausted and beginning to believe that not even a drop of Allah’s mercy is going to reach us. We fall into a pit of sorrow and our Iman begins to plummet, losing any sight of eventually entering Jannah through Allah’s Mercy. 💔 This is a major barrier that’s blocking many Muslims from getting closer to Allah and improving their relationship with Him. This barrier is losing hope in the mercy of Allah Ta’ala. Sometimes people think that Allah will never forgive them because of the multitude of their sins. As a result, they slacken in performing their acts of worship and some even abandon them as they lose hope in attaining the mercy of Allah. 🌿 However, Allah, The Exalted has said: 📖 “Say, ‘O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.’” (Surah Az-Zumar, Ayah 53)” ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🤲 THE MERCY OF ALLAH The Prophet (Sallallaahu Alaihi Wasallam) said, “Allah the Almighty said: ,“O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask from Me, I shall pardon you for what you have done, and I wouldn’t care. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness almost as great as it.’” (Tirmidhi)” ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🕊️ Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, “By Him in whose hand is my soul, if you did not sin Allah would replace you with people who would sin and they would seek the forgiveness of Allah and He would forgive them.” [Sahih Muslim] 🌱 “Every son of Adam sins, and the best of those who sin are those who repent.” [at-Tirmidhi] ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🌟 Allah created us all as sinners. However, the BEST of sinners are those of us who turn back to Allah each time and repent; those of us who never lose hope in His Mercy, and firmly believe that He can and will forgive us. ⚠️ (Note: this does not mean we should sin on purpose, of course!) 🤲 We need to constantly ask Allah Ta’ala for forgiveness and try and mend our ways. We should never become overconfident that Allah Ta’ala will forgive us without asking him and without trying to stop sinning. ❤️ We should also fix what wrong we have done to others, if we stole money we should return it, if we harmed anyone in any way we should ask them for forgiveness. ╔══════════════════╗ 🩸 The man that killed 99 people ╚══════════════════╝ Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Prophet of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wassallam) said: 📜 “There was a man from among a nation before you who killed ninety-nine people and then made an inquiry about the most learned person on the earth. He was directed to a monk. He came to him and told him that he had killed ninety-nine people and asked him if there was any chance for his repentance to be accepted. He replied in the negative and the man killed him also completing one hundred.

✨ Signs of Allah Ta‘ala in the Formation of Snowflakes ❄️ 🔗 https://chat.whatsapp.com/DxJvwERueKyJkXEhgV0BxT?s=cl&p=a&ilr=1 Anyone who takes a close look at snowflakes can see that they come in a variety of shapes. It is estimated that a single cubic meter of snow holds about 350 million snowflakes! These flakes are all hexagonal and have crystal-like structures. ❄️🔬 However, each one of them possesses a unique shape. ✨ For years, scientists have been searching for answers to such questions as how these shapes ever came about, how it is that each one of them has a different shape and what provides their symmetry. 🔬 Every bit of information that is gained reveals another magnificent mastery present in the snowflakes. The variety and perfection of the hexagonal structure of snowflakes is a manifestation of Allah’s status as the Originator (al-Badi). 🌨️✨ Allah Ta'ala is the One Who made good everything that He has created. The formation of snowflakes constitutes yet another aspect of Allah’s endless artistry. 🤍 These thin, small flakes look like multi-pointed stars or tiny needle heads. ⭐ The formation of the snowflakes in the pictures is truly amazing. For years, the orderly structure of snowflakes has caught people’s attention. Since 1945, research has been carried out in a quest to discover which factors give the final shape to the crystals. 🔬 A single snowflake is a pile of crystals consisting of more than 200 ice crystals. Snowflakes are made up of water molecules that are shaped in a perfect order. Snowflakes, one of nature’s true architectural wonders, are shaped when water vapor gets cold while passing through clouds. ☁️❄️ This takes place like so: Passing through the clouds, water molecules scattered everywhere in a disorganized way throughout water vapor begin to lose their random movement due to the fall in temperature. After a while, the water molecules, moving more slowly, begin to form groups and consequently become solid. Yet, there is no disorder whatsoever in their groupings. On the contrary, they always unite as microscopic hexagonal forms that look similar to each other. Each snowflake at first consists of a single hexagonal water molecule, then other hexagonal water molecules come and attach to this first piece. ❄️🔷 According to experts on the subject, the basic factor that determines the shape of a snowflake is that these hexagonal water molecules are joined together just like links in a chain. In addition, the pieces of crystals, which normally should look alike, take on very different shapes according to the temperature and level of moisture.(1) Why is it that there is a hexagonal symmetry in all snowflakes and why is each of them different from the others? Why are their edges angled rather then straight? Scientists are still trying to find answers to these questions. 🔬❓ Yet, this much is evident: Allah is the One Who has no partners in creation, is the Possessor of an endless power and the Originator of everything 🤲✨ [1] Roger Davey, David Stanley, "All about ice," New Scientist, September 6, 1993. --- 📚 For more articles go to www.islaaminfo.org No Copyright. ❤️ As for the final quality – not laughing excessively – then Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) mentioned that this leads to the death of the spiritual heart. In other words, when one becomes engaged in entertainment, vain pursuits, laughing and joking with friends in trying to amuse oneself, then one becomes unmindful of Allah Ta‘ala, the Aakhirah and the obligations of Deen, and this ultimately leads to the heart becoming hard. Once the heart becomes hard and begins to spiritually die, then one no longer finds any motivation, drive or enthusiasm for good deeds, ‘ibaadah, righteousness and piety. 🌙 Hence, we should avoid getting involved in vain pursuits of amusement and entertainment, and turn our focus towards Allah Ta‘ala and the Aakhirah. In this regard, we should set aside a few moments daily to ponder over death and the stages of the Hereafter which are to come. 💎💎 The five special qualities mentioned by Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) in this hadeeth are like five priceless pearls. 🤲 May Allah Ta‘ala bless us to inculcate these important qualities into our lives, aameen. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 📖 For more articles go to www.islaaminfo.org 📲 No Copyright. ✨ Five Priceless Pearls ✨ 🔗 https://chat.whatsapp.com/FR2ZIAZMd0o4xxjc7QsOkP?s=cl&p=a&ilr=1 🌿 Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) once (addressed the Sahaabah [radhiyallahu ‘anhum] and) said, “Who will take these words (of advice) from me and practise upon them, or teach them to one who will practise upon them?” Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) says, “I replied, ‘I will, O Rasul of Allah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam)!’ Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) then held my hand and counted five (qualities). He said, 1️⃣ – ‘Safeguard yourself from all haraam, you will be the greatest worshipper among the people. 2️⃣ – Be pleased (and content) with that (sustenance and wealth) which Allah Ta‘ala has allotted for you, you will be the wealthiest of people. 3️⃣ – Show your neighbour kindness, you will be a (perfect) believer. 4️⃣ – Love for people that which you love for yourself, you will be a (perfect) Muslim. 5️⃣ – Do not laugh abundantly, for abundant laughter causes the death of the (spiritual) heart.’” 📚 (Sunan Tirmizi #2305) 🌸 In the blessed hadeeth mentioned above, Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) encouraged the Ummah to inculcate five special qualities into their lives. 🌿 The first quality is the quality of abstaining from all haraam, evil and sin. Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) mentioned that the one who refrains from sins will be counted from among the greatest worshippers. The reason is that Allah Ta‘ala has commanded one to fulfil the commands of sharee‘ah and refrain from the prohibitions of sharee‘ah. Hence, one will become sinful through either not fulfilling the obligations of sharee‘ah, or through committing the prohibited actions. Therefore, the person who fulfils the commands of Allah Ta‘ala (e.g. he fulfils the rights of Allah Ta‘ala such as salaah, fasting, etc. and he fulfils the rights of the creation e.g. the rights of parents, children, wives, etc.) and he also refrains from sins (e.g. he protects his eyes and other limbs from sins, refrains from haraam business dealings and relationships, etc.) – then such a person will be regarded among the greatest worshippers in the sight of Allah Ta‘ala on account of him upholding the commands of Allah Ta‘ala in his life at all times. 💎 The second quality is that of contentment. Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) mentioned that the one who inculcates contentment will be the wealthiest of people. In another hadeeth, Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “ Being wealthy is not attained through possessing abundant goods. Rather, being wealthy is (acquiring) the wealth of the heart (i.e. contentment). ” (Saheeh Bukhaari #6446) In the eyes of the world, a poor person is a person who does not possess enough wealth, while a wealthy person is one who possesses enough wealth. Accordingly, if a person possesses millions, far in excess of his actual needs, yet he feels that it is never enough for him due to which he continues to hanker after the world, then he will be regarded as ‘poor’, as he lacks the true wealth of contentment. On the contrary, if a person possess little wealth, but he is content with what Allah Ta‘ala has given him, then he will be regarded as ‘wealthy’, as his heart is pleased with the decree of Allah Ta‘ala at all times. Hence, Sayyiduna Sa’d (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) once advised his son saying, “ O my beloved son! When you seek wealth, then seek it with contentment, for the one who does not have contentment – no amount of money will be enough for him.” (Taareekh Ibni ‘Asaakir vol. 20, pg. 363) 🤝 The third and fourth qualities – to treat the neighbour with kindness and to love for others that which we love for ourselves – both revolve around huqooqul ‘ibaad (fulfilling the rights of the creation), as well as having a clean heart for each and every person.

🌴 The Design of the Woodpecker 🌴 https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaBaK63CxoAmzBbOex02/101 As we all know, woodpeckers build their nests by boring holes in tree trunks with their beaks. This may sound familiar to most people. But the point many people fail to examine is why woodpeckers suffer no brain haemorrhage when they beat a tattoo so vigorously with their heads. What the woodpecker does is in a way similar to a human being driving a nail into the wall with his head. If a man ventured to do something like that, he would probably undergo a brain shock followed by a brain haemorrhage. However, a woodpecker can peck a hard tree trunk 38-43 times in just two or three seconds and nothing happens to it. (1) Nothing happens because the head structure of woodpeckers is ideally created for such a task. The skull of the woodpecker has a remarkable suspension system that absorbs the force of the blows. Its forehead and some skull muscles adjoined to its beak and the jaw joint are so robust that they help lessen the effect of the forceful strokes during pecking. (2) Design and planning do not end here. Preferring primarily pine trees, woodpeckers check the age of the trees before boring a hole in them and pick those older than 100 years, because pine trees older than 100 years suffer an illness that causes the hard and thick bark to soften. This was only recently discovered by science and perhaps you may be reading of it here for the first time in your life; woodpeckers have known it for centuries. This is not the only reason why woodpeckers prefer pine trees. Woodpeckers dig cavities around their nests, the function of which was not originally understood. These cavities were later understood to protect them from a great danger. Over time, the sticky resin that leaks from the pine trees fills up the cavities and the outpost of the woodpecker’s nest is thus filled with a pool whereby woodpeckers can be protected from snakes, their greatest enemies. Another interesting feature of woodpeckers is that their tongues are thin enough to penetrate even ants’ nests in the trees. Their tongues are also sticky, which allows them to collect the ants that live there. The perfection in their creation is further revealed by the fact that their tongues have a structure which prevents them from being harmed by the acid in the bodies of the ants. (3) Woodpeckers, each of whose characteristics is discussed in a different paragraph above, prove with all their detailed features that they are ‘created’. If woodpeckers had evolved coincidentally as the theory of evolution claims, they would have died before they acquired such extraordinarily consistent traits and they would be extinct. However, as they were created by Allah Ta’ala with a special ‘design‘ adapted to their life, they started their lives by bearing all the vital characteristics. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ References (1) Grzimeks Tierleben Vögel 3, Deutscher Taschen Buch Verlag, Oktober 1993, p. 92 (2) Ibid, p. 89 (3) Ibid, pp. 87-88 ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ For more articles go to www.islaaminfo.org No Copyright. «“A lot of my revert friends tell me that they had a specific moment when they realized Islam was the Truth, or that there was a particular thing about Islam that really spoke to them and they just knew that this was it, that they were Muslim. Did that happen for you, Michelle?”» «“It was the idea of One God,” she answered me immediately. “I had never really understood or believed that whole Christian thing with the father, son, and spirit. That had always, always been confusing to me. I had tried asking my pastor about it so I could understand, but he got annoyed with my question and told me “It just is.” So when I found that in Islam there was none of that confusion, I knew that this was the right thing. This is Truth. Finally.”» Tawheed is the antidote to the trinity. Michelle is now happily married to a Muslim husband and they have six beautiful children, mashaAllah. But twelve years ago, she was a dissatisfied woman working at an office, looking out her second-floor window beyond the concrete parking lot at a nameless, faceless Muslim woman who was praying there and reading Quran on her lunch break by a tree. «“To this day, I don’t know what that sister’s face looks like or what her name is. I wish I could meet her so I could thank her and tell her the impact she inadvertently had on me. I make du’a for her.”» Imagine the influence you as a Muslim may have on another person, without you ever knowing. [متفقٌ عليهِ] Sahl ibn Sa`d narrate that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said to Ali, «“For by Allah if Allah were to guide a single person through you, it would be better for you than an entire lot of red camels.”» [Bukhari and Muslim] --- May Allah use us for His sake, Ameen. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ For more articles go to: www.islaaminfo.org No Copyright. 🌿 Becoming a Means of Guidance for Non-Muslims 🔗 https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaBaK63CxoAmzBbOex02/101 --- Yesterday a new friend, let’s call her Michelle, was telling me the story of how she became Muslim. She was born in the South, into a staunchly Christian family, Baptist. She grew up going to church on Sundays. As a young woman, she worked in one of the offices at a small university. Nobody that she lived or worked or interacted with was a Muslim. But one day as she ate lunch, she glanced out her office window and noticed something bizarre. There was a woman with something covering her head outside and way across the parking lot who would stand, bow, and fall to the ground under a tree. When she’d finish this odd thing, she would sit with her back leaning against the tree and read a book. Every single day during the lunch hour, this unknown woman would do this same strange routine. Michelle was puzzled by the action itself and its meaning, and also by its unfailing consistency. What was that woman doing? And why did she do it every day at the same time? What did it mean? Michelle was so baffled by this that she continued to watch for the woman every day. She even asked her co-workers in the office, «“Anyone else weirded out by whatever that woman out there is doing? What is she doing that for?”» The other women in the office shrugged, mostly unconcerned. One woman told her, «“Honey, that woman over there is a Muslim. Don’t you worry about her? That’s just something they do.”» Michelle learned that this was something from Islam, but that was it. The only piece of the puzzle she got only served to make her more intrigued and piqued her curiosity further. She’d heard of Islam distantly, from the hubbub around 9/11 and Muslims being terrorists. Now she had another fact to connect to it: Muslims for some reason did this standing-bowing-prostrating thing with trees on their lunch break. She dropped the subject. A few years later, she went to get her car fixed at a mechanic shop. As she waited for the mechanic to wrap up with another client, she heard him saying some unknown words in some unknown language as the client left. «“What did you just say to that guy?” she asked the mechanic curiously. “What were those words?”» «“Assalamu alaikum,” the man said. “It’s in Arabic. It means “peace be upon you.” We say it because we are Muslims.”» She was surprised. This was a white American man telling her about what Muslims say and do! He was Muslim, a convert. Sensing her interest or curiosity, the white revert gave her some pamphlets on Islam that he kept in his shop and an English translation of the Quran. He fixed her car and she got on her way, thanking him. She got home and read the pamphlets. She leafed through the English meaning of the Quran. What she read was new, interesting, like a breath of fresh air. She thought it over in her mind, uncertain. A while later, she went back to the same mechanic to get an oil change. The mechanic recognized her and asked her gently about Islam. She said, «“I want to learn more about it because I think it’s interesting. But I don’t know any Muslims.”» He gave her the phone number of a Muslim sister and told her to call her, to talk about Islam. He assured Michelle that this woman would be happy to hear from her. But when she got home that day, Michelle hesitated; she wasn’t used to cold calling strangers! So she didn’t make the call to the Muslim woman whose number she held on a scrap of paper in her hand. But the following day, the woman called her! She was a friendly, kind Muslim woman who taught Michelle the basics about Islam and answered her questions. The two women talked regularly and met up as well. After a while, Michelle was ready. She said her shahada! As I listened to this story, mesmerized and smiling, I asked Michelle,

To every daughter-in-law carrying these silent burdens: your feelings are real, your tears are seen, and your voice matters. You are not alone. And to every in-law reading this: ask yourself one simple question: Am I helping this marriage blossom, or am I slowly becoming the storm it is trying to survive?

When a Home Feels Like a Prison: A Daughter-in-Law's Silent Cry By R Padia https://chat.whatsapp.com/JkzuMilYnbE8iAoDIgMwTu A marriage is meant to be a beautiful, sacred bond between a husband and wife, built on love, mercy, trust, and companionship. It is a relationship that should blossom with time, growing stronger through every trial, capable of weathering even life's fiercest storms. Allah created spouses to be the coolness of each other's eyes, a source of peace, comfort, and tranquillity. But for many couples, that peace is never given the chance to flourish. Instead of allowing a newly married couple to build their own life together, many in-laws remain trapped in old habits and fixed mindsets. Some mothers-in-law continue holding onto their sons as though they are still little boys, unable to accept that marriage marks the beginning of a new chapter, not the end of a mother's love, but the beginning of a husband's responsibilities and often, it is the daughters-in-law who bears the weight of this struggle. She enters a new home with hope, eager to learn, to adapt, and to become part of a family. She understands that every household has its own way of doing things, and she is willing to embrace those differences with respect and humility. But adaptation should never mean erasing her identity. There is nothing wrong with learning from a mother-in-law. There is beauty in seeking guidance, showing respect, and serving. Islam encourages kindness, service, and maintaining family ties. However, what is deeply painful is when a daughter-in-law is never given the opportunity to contribute her own ideas, establish her own routines, or make the house feel like her home too, especially when her way causes no hardship, inconvenience, or difficulty to anyone. A home should nurture hearts.Yet for many daughters-in-law, home begins to resemble a prison. Every decision is monitored. Every action is criticised. Every effort is measured against impossible standards. She walks on eggshells, constantly afraid of saying or doing the wrong thing. Instead of feeling welcomed, she feels like an outsider in the very place she is expected to call home. Even more heartbreaking is when in-laws continue to interfere in the private relationship between husband and wife. A marriage cannot thrive when every disagreement, every decision, and every moment is subject to outside control. Over time, the emotional strain begins to chip away at the bond between the spouses. What was once a relationship built on love slowly starts to feel like an obligation,a partnership surviving rather than living. The daughter-in-law begins to question her worth. No matter how much she gives, it never feels enough. No matter how hard she tries, someone always finds fault. Perhaps the most painful reality of all is when a daughter-in-law is treated according to her family's wealth, social standing, surname, or financial status. Since when did Islam teach us to value people based on what they own or since when did wealth become the measure of honour? The Rasulullah ﷺ taught us that the most honoured in the sight of Allah are those with the most taqwa, not the greatest wealth or highest status. So why do some daughters-in-law feel constantly judged? Islam teaches us to honour our parents and respect our in-laws. It teaches daughters-in-law to be compassionate, patient, and dutiful. It teaches wives to respect and support their husbands. But Islam also teaches justice, mercy and gentleness. A daughter-in-law is not a servant, prisoner or guest who must spend her life proving herself. She is certainly someone's beloved daughter or wife and indeed someone's future. Imagine how different our homes would be if mothers-in-law chose to guide instead of control, to embrace instead of compare, to encourage instead of criticising. Imagine daughters-in-law who felt safe enough to be themselves, loved enough to make mistakes, and respected enough to help build a home alongside everyone else.

14) Avoid saying: ‘I never spoke to my parents the way you do.’ Many parents have a particularly short fuse when their children defy them. It is in these moments, we end up saying things we regret later, often making damning generalisations about our children’s behaviour, which they feel unable to escape. 15) Researchers have found that teenagers base many of their actions on immediate gratifications, thinking about the here and now, not the future. They have not grown yet to deal with the right decision-making. 16) As parents you should be role models for your children. In this respect you should ensure that your behavior in their presence should be worth emulating. Try as much as you can to avoid quarreling with your spouse or using foul language in presence of your teens. 17) Enlighten them on the status of parents in Islām, particularly the mother. We have to stress that parents deserve the maximum respect and obedience. Teach them also to respect their ustādhs/ustādhās, teachers, elders and Ulamā. Train them also to love their siblings and to be helpful to them. 18) We should ensure that they do not miss a single Salāh. Keep on reminding them that Salāh is one of the pillars of Islām. 19) Encourage them to recite Qur’ān on a daily basis, preferably after every Salāh. 20) It is also very important to give them training on performing the various obligatory acts in the correct manner. One of them is Fard Ghusl (obligatory ritual body cleaning). There are many youngsters (and even some grownups) who do not do it the right way. 21) Hayā (modesty) is an integral part of our Imān. We as parents should try to imbue them with this noble attribute. Also, advice them to keep away from mixed gatherings. 22) Last, but not least, encourage them to always turn to Allāh Ta'ala in case they have any problem or they want to take any decision. May Allāh Subhāna wa Ta’ālā guide our teenagers to become amongst the pious Ummah of Nabi (Sallallāhu ‘alayhi wa Sallam). 1) One of the greatest gifts we can give to our teens at this age is to inculcate in them the recognition of the Almighty Allāh. We should try to instill in their developing minds the concept of the Greatness of Allāh Ta'ala, who is our Khāliq (The Creator), who is our Mālik (The Absolute Ruler) and who is our Rāziq (The Provider). In other words, we should gradually try to build up their Imān. 2) We should often talk to them about the Seerāh of Nabi (Sallallāhu ‘alayhi wa Sallam) and guide them to adopt his Sunnāh in their daily life. 3) It is very important that together with secular education we impart to them Islāmic teachings. True Islāmic teachings have so much power that they can turn a teen that is like a ‘Ferrari with weak brakes’ into the one that is like a ‘Ferrari with very powerful brakes’. 4) We all know that in a very near future they are going out in a world that is full of all kinds of fitnāhs and if they do not have proper Islāmic knowledge they can easily get misled and as a result they can ruin their worldly life as well as their Akherat (the hereafter). Someone gave a very relevant example to illustrate this point. In the olden days people used to draw water from a well by means of a bucket. They used to tie a rope to the handle of the bucket so that when the bucket gets filled with water they could pull it out with the help of the rope. If the bucket was thrown into the well without a rope then they would obviously lose it. In the same way if we send our children out there in a world that is full of all kinds of temptations without proper Islāmic knowledge the chances are very strong we might lose them. The Islāmic knowledge acts as the means to bring our teens back to us. 5) Teach them in very simple language how to differentiate between halāl (the permissible) and harām (the impermissible); Twāhir (ritually pure) and Ghair-Twāhir or Najees (ritually impure); legitimate and illegitimate. 6) Create an Islāmic atmosphere at home. Read to them the stories of the Sahāba and how much they struggled for the Deen of Allāh Ta'ala. A very inspiring story is that of Mus’āb ibn ‘Umair, a highly pampered son of a very rich man, who embraced Islām in his teens. 7) Give them abundant love and attend to all their needs. Never scold them in presence of their friends or even strangers. 8) Always be friendly towards your teenage children and take plenty of interest in their affairs. Give them constructive advice and if you think they are taking any wrong decision in any matter then give them guidance with wisdom. 9) If possible keep them away from internet and the internet-based gadgets. If you have to give them access to internet then limit their browsing and, most importantly, monitor it too. 10) See that they do not get involved in pornography and related vices. Play with them various games in their free time or get them involved in some sort of activities like cleaning the house etc. to keep them occupied. 11) It is very important that we also keep an eye on the company they keep. This is the stage in their lives when they are very gullible and can easily be influenced by children with bad character or some evil-minded and ill-intentioned people. 12) Do not put unnecessary pressure on your teens when they come home. Let your home be a haven from the pressures of the outside world where they can relax and recharge. 13) Allāh Ta'ala has created each individual with distinctive features, character, nature etc. In the same manner He has placed some special gifts and talents in some people and your teenager could be one of them. It is the duty of parents to detect these hidden talents in their teens and try to nurture them. Chances are your child may become a future ālim, hāfidh, doctor, engineer, or scientist.

THE TEENAGE PERIOD https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaBaK63CxoAmzBbOex02/101 Allāh Jalla Jalālahu says in Qur’ān Majeed: Undoubtedly, We have created man in the best form. (Compared to other creatures, man’s physique is certainly more beautiful and he also has intelligence which the others do not possess also power of choice.) Surāh- Teen verses 4. Like the unique way in which Allāh Ta'ala has created the human being, He has also established a phenomenal process of human growth from infancy to adulthood. However, the most amazing stage in that growth period is the stage of adolescence (12 to 18 years). When a child is about to bid farewell to his childhood, Allāh Subhāna wa Ta’ālā with His infinite Mercy gradually prepares him for the approaching adulthood. That period is also called the Teenage period. While fascinating it is, it can also be a very challenging time for some parents. UNDERSTANDING THE TEENAGE PERIOD There isn’t a parent with a teenager who hasn’t been told ‘I hate you’, ‘You are ruining my life’ or ‘Leave me alone’ at some point. If that is not bad enough, their behaviour can get even worse if we fail to understand the brain changes triggering these outbursts. We can even end up losing our connection with our teens at the time when they need us most! So if we want to salvage our relationship with our teens, and make this period more acceptable then we must try to comprehend the teenage behaviour. THE BRAIN OF A TEENAGER A teenager makes much more sense when we try to understand what is really going in his developing brain. Regarding this, given below are findings of some western researchers. However, these are just mortal deductions and Allāh Ta'ala alone knows what really is happening in a teenager’s brain at that time. A major new study is the latest to find that teenagers go through the same ‘rewiring’ process between the age of 13 and 17 as they did when they were toddlers. Of course, knowing that they have the impulses of toddlers doesn’t mean we should treat them as such. Second time around, when they match us for size and are using much more colourful language, the situation can be much harder to handle. The last part to be rewired is the frontal lobe. The frontal lobe of the brain – the part responsible for reasoning, planning, judgment, impulse control, mood and emotions – is located at the front of the brain. While this rewiring is going on, decision-making is re-routed via the amygdala, an almond-shaped set of neurons located deep in the brain’s medial temporal lobe, which reacts instantaneously and emotionally to any perceived threat. Hence that is the period when the brain just doesn’t know how to regulate itself. It is like a Ferraris with weak brakes. Of course, it’s easy to assume that it is of no importance to know this as ‘teens never listen anyway’. On the contrary, they are hypersensitive to such assumptions of ours and it can also become their defense mechanism. To a confused adolescent, such despairing comments from the parent who is supposed to love them the most can cut deep. Such messages get turned inwards into negative self-talk. These voices can be very hard to silence once they take hold in a teenager’s semi-developed brain, just as it is laying down the pathways which will influence his future mental state. SOME TIPS ON RAISING MUSLIM TEENS Children are a trust put in the hands of parents who will be answerable before Allāh Ta'ala on the Day of Judgment about their children as they are enjoined to satisfy their offspring’s spiritual and religious urges in order to produce righteous men and women. Muslim teens can develop the same undesirable traits as the non-Muslim ones if we do not guide them with an Islāmic approach. Here are some tips on raising our teenagers to meet the worldly as well the religious demands.

Read a few pages of a beneficial book. Spend time reflecting. Declutter one small space. Review my goals. Plan the coming week. 💡 Tips for Success 🌱 Start with only 3–5 goals. It is better to achieve a few than abandon many. ⭐ Start with some easy wins to build momentum. 🪜 Break every large goal into monthly, weekly and daily actions. ⏱️ Use the 2-Minute Rule. If something takes less than two minutes, do it immediately. 🔗 Use Habit Stacking. Attach a new habit to an existing one (for example, read one page of Qur'an after every Fajr). 📅 Follow the Don't Miss Twice Rule. Missing one day is normal. Missing two days starts a new habit. 📝 Keep a simple checklist or habit tracker. Write your yearly, monthly and yearly goals and tick off as you go. 🔄 Review your goals every month and adjust them if needed. 🚫 Remove distractions before relying on motivation. 📉 If a goal feels too difficult, make it smaller rather than giving up. 🤝 Find an accountability partner. 🎉 Reward consistency (not perfection). 🤲 Make sincere dua and ask Allah Ta‘ala for steadfastness. ❤️ Remember that sincerity is more important than numbers. Checklists and Goals– A Simple Way to Become Closer to Allah Ta‘ala https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaBaK63CxoAmzBbOex02/101 One of the easiest ways to improve consistently is to have clear goals. Small, consistent deeds are more beloved to Allah than large deeds done occasionally. Don't overwhelm yourself. Start with just a few goals. Once they become habits, add more. The aim is progress, not perfection. Remember that a large yearly goal can be broken down into monthly, weekly or even daily checklists. Another subtle form of backbiting is displaying your interest and amazement while the backbiter is speaking. The more excited and interested the audience of listeners are, the more they are encouraging the backbiter to speak. So making expressions such as "Are you serious?", "Wow, didn’t know that!", and the likes, indicates to the speaker that what he/she is saying is of interest, therefore encouraging him to backbite more. 7. Mass backbiting Talking negatively and disparagingly about a specific group of people based solely on their race, ethnicity, nationality, tribal affiliation, political orientation & creed is a dangerous form of backbiting that should be avoided. It unjustly targets a large number of people and you will be taken into account for every single person you backbit/slandered. Punishment for backbiting The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "When I was taken up to heaven I passed by people who had nails of copper and were scratching their faces and their breasts. I said: Who are these people, Gabriel? He replied: 'These are the people who ate flesh of others (by backbiting) and trampled people's honour.'" Sunan Abi Dawud 4878 The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "..a slave (of Allah) may utter a word (carelessly) which displeases Allah without thinking of its gravity and because of that he will be thrown into the Hell-Fire." [Al-Bukhari]. The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "He who has done a wrong affecting his brother's honour or anything else, let him ask his forgiveness today before the time (i.e., the Day of Resurrection) when he will have neither a dinar nor a dirham. If he has done some good deeds, a portion equal to his wrong doings will be subtracted from them; but if he has no good deeds, he will be burdened with the evil deeds of the one he had wronged in the same proportion." 7 Ways You Could Be Backbiting https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaBaK63CxoAmzBbOex02/101 Backbiting is a major sin in Islam and should never be taken lightly. Clear warnings against backbiting are both in the Quran and Sunnah which are severe enough to make us take heed of every word, facial expression and even gesture we make. Some of us are oblivious to exactly what constitutes backbiting while many consider it as something insignificant. The Prophet (ﷺ) straightforwardly said, "A Qattat (backbiter) will not enter Paradise." (Bukhari 6056) So what exactly is considered backbiting? Let us together shed some light on the types of backbiting we should avoid at all costs. 1. The Common Backbiting The messenger of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) once asked the Companions: "Do you know what backbiting is?" They said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "Saying something about your brother that he dislikes." It was said, "What if what I say about my brother is true?" He said, "If what you say is true then you have backbitten about him, and if it is not true, then you have slandered him." Sahih Muslim 2589 This is the most common and direct form of backbiting and in most cases, is accompanied by slandering and gossiping, both of which are undoubtedly grave sins. Gheebah (backbiting) means that you speak about your Muslim brother in his absence in a manner which he would not like to hear or have it mentioned had he been present. It is attributing to that person his faults or shortcomings in order to belittle or speak ill of him. This includes statements said about his/her physical appearance, traits, manners, behavior, religious commitment, lineage, dress, habits (i.e. sleeps too much) etc. Slandering on the other hand is saying something about your brother which is not true. Both these actions are strictly forbidden and in the Quran, Allah (Subhaanahu Wa Ta'ala) has likened backbiting to eating the flesh of your dead brother: "neither backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it (so hate backbiting). And fear Allah. Verily, Allah is the One Who forgives and accepts repentance, Most Merciful" [49:12] 2. Gestures 'Aishah (Radiallaahu anha) said: "I told the Prophet (ﷺ) about a man, so he said: 'I do not like to talk about a man, even if I were to get this or that (for doing so).' She said: "I said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Safiyyah is a woman who is ..." and she used her hand as if to indicate that she is short - "So he said: 'You have said a statement which, if it were mixed in with the water of the sea, it would pollute it.'" Jami` at-Tirmidhi Hadith 2502 'Aishah (Radiallaahu anha) did not utter a single word, rather it was a mere gesture she made to describe the stature of Safiyyah, which constituted a form of backbiting. The idea here is that this kind of gesture was meant as something bad due to some jealousy, and although many of us may have deemed it as insignificant, the Prophet (ﷺ) clearly criticized Aishah (Radiallaahu anha) for her action. 3. Facial Expression Backbiting isn’t necessarily restricted to verbal expression. Even mere expression of the face can convey to others a shortcoming about your brother. This can be conveyed through expressions of annoyance, resentment, and suspicion whenever a particular person is mentioned. Examples include: rolling your eyes, giving unpleasant looks, or showing doubt. 4. Implicit Backbiting Talking about a particular individual without mentioning his/her name can also constitute backbiting if those listening have understood who is being implied by the statement. Accordingly, it is best to avoid speaking about an individual if giving a description would easily hint the identity of that person. 5. Mimicry Another form of backbiting includes mimicking or imitating a person by the way they talk, walk or act for the purpose of mocking or making others laugh. This is absolutely prohibited and far from the traits of a true believer. 6. Showing Interest to the words of the backbiter

Rasoolullah (Sallallhu Alayhi wa Sallam) said: “Envy (ghibtah) is allowed in two cases: in case of a man whom Allah has given the Qur’aan and who recites it throughout night and day; and a man on whom Allah has bestowed wealth who gives it away throughout night and day.” (Sahih al Bukhari and Sahih Muslim) And Rasoolullah (Sallallhu Alayhi wa Sallam) also explained what may be said: “I wish I were given what he was given and did with it what he did.” May Allah Ta’ala grant us all the hidaayah and taufeeq to be better Muslims to one another.
