PPI inflation data just came in cooler than expected on both Headline and Core prints: https://x.com/DBNewswire/status/2077370155579891766?s=20
Headline PPI came in at -0.3% MoM vs 0% expected,
Core PPI came in at 0.2% MoM vs 0.4% expected,
Spoke on stream yesterday about how PPI would likely fall under expectations following the cold CPI release, and together they should push back on the narrative of a hawkish Fed even further. I believe a rate hike is effectively off the table for the next few meetings ahead of midterm elections, and the markets still have more room to price that in which should be a positive tailwind for assets in the meantime.
