From Spring Mass Systems to Superconducting Qubits
What do springs and quantum computers have in common? Join us for a casual coffee chat with Kian Yau Chang, where we take a journey from the classical harmonic oscillator all the way to superconducting qubits, one of the leading hardware platforms for quantum computing today. We'll also get a glimpse into what research looks like in an actual quantum lab as an undergraduate student.
We look forward to seeing you there! 👋

This message is intended for Y3 and Y4 Physics Students
Starting this AY, with the closure of Classical Mechanics 2 🥲, Prof Gong and Prof Qinghai have decided to start a Wednesday Lecture series 🤩 starting from 1200 - 1400, once every one to two weeks. Lunch is provided 👀 .
The series will cover topics not included in the current curriculum. Initially, Prof. Gong will lecture on advanced dynamics, from Hamiltonian mechanics to action-angle variables, while Prof. Wang will present a couple of lectures on divergent series and their applications in physics. They expect additional lectures as other professors may also be interested in participating.
We need your help 🫵 (Y3s and 4s) to indicate your interest in this google form The form will close by this Sunday night 2359. It will help us in catering lunch so as to prevent wastage. Thanks! (Lets play a part to save the earth! 😊)
P.S. For the Year 1 and 2s, if you are interested, you may also complete the google form. 😉
