The sessions will be held every day from 11:00am to 01:00pm. Participants will get an opportunity to interact with eminent resource persons and equip themselves with the latest happenings in flood disaster mitigation.  Objectives of the Programme  • To investigate the general topography, nature of soil and type of vegetation in the study area, to demarcate the area of vulnerability.  • To analyse, interpret and conceptualize the problems of recurrence flood disasters in the flood plain of North Karnataka.  • To demarcate the river overflow and breaches that lead to free flow of water into the surrounding areas causing damages using RS-GIS.  • To know, how to prepare a flood hazard zone mapping using appropriate technology.  • To suggest a flood control and disaster reduction model taking all the detrimental indicators for flood situation which can reduce the flood disaster in the study area. She was with KSNDMC from 2012 and has worked intensely on urban hydrology, urban floods, Flood Forecast and Early warning system. She has also worked on Impacts and Mitigation measures for urban floods in Bengaluru city in partnership with Indian Institute of Science under different projects funded by ITRA (Integrated Technology Research Academy) and DST (Department of Science and Technology), Govt. of India. She was involved as a collaborator for NSM (National Super Computing Mission) – Urban Modelling project. She has also served as technical advisor for Water Resources and City based Storm water Management and related work under Smart City programs for different cities in Karnataka State. She is an active member of Bangalore Sustainability Forum, a forum which works on water and related solutions.
