The design response spectrum has been extended to cover longer periods, improving the accuracy of analysis for tall and flexible structures. Soil–structure interaction effects are now explicitly considered, and updated guidelines for liquefaction assessment enhance geotechnical safety. Part 5 provides building-specific provisions to ensure better detailing, stability, and overall seismic performance.
