Germany says its contribution would come from volumes already agreed in March, with "no new" release planned. France says much of its contribution was also "previously committed," though it could add around 2 MILLION barrels. Poland says it is "ready to release" stocks if members reach consensus. The exact volume and composition remain UNCLEAR, with final details expected October 14-15. For markets, the SIZE of any genuinely NEW supply is key. A LARGER fresh release could add downward pressure on crude and diesel prices, while a SMALLER one could limit the impact. Technically, Crude Oil remains below the EMA50, with bearish RSI divergence and its short-term downtrend intact.

The Independent Community Bankers of America sued the OCC, arguing it has no legal authority to grant national trust charters to crypto firms. "Congress did not create the national trust charter as a side door into the banking system for crypto firms," says ICBA CEO Rebeca Romero Rainey. The OCC has cleared trust charters for crypto firms including Coinbase, Circle and Crypto(.)com, as well as Trump-linked World Liberty Financial. The OCC says it does not comment on litigation.

The memory chip maker's quarterly revenue hit $54.2 BILLION, nearly 5x a year ago, beating Wall Street's $51.5 BILLION estimate. It made $37.7 BILLION in profit in those three months alone. Adjusted earnings came in at $33.42 per share, up from $3.03 a year ago. Micron now expects as much as $63 BILLION next quarter, saying memory supply will be "much tighter" in 2027 and 2028.

The shift came after NY Fed's Williams said: “With the policy action we took at our Sept meeting, there is NO NEED FOR URGENCY.” “We have time to gather more information.” “At 3.7%, inflation is unquestionably TOO HIGH and expectations remain well anchored.” “Prices for housing services have DECELERATED.” “There is NO evidence that the labor market is adding to inflationary pressures.” Williams said the Fed has NOT seen price shocks “spilling over into broader and more persistent inflation.” But he said ONE MORE HIKE may come December. Williams is a permanent FOMC voter, and the vice chair of the rate-setting committee, meaning his comments often reflect the Fed’s policy center.

That level marked one of the WORST stock market peaks in modern history. After the S&P 500 topped in March 2000, it fell nearly 50% over the next 2.5 years. It then took about 7 years for the S&P 500 to reclaim that high. Now, stocks have broken above that peak again.

Oil back above $106 and the fastest US business growth in five years have traders betting the Fed will raise rates faster. The surge is already hitting home loans, with 30-year mortgage rates averaging 7.03%, the highest since January 2025.
