My Testimony Unplugging From Mormonism. 15 years ago today 10/29/2008, I came home from my 2 year Mormon mission. Though I grew and learned a lot and read the entire Bible cover to cover slowly taking notes in about 9 months, I had a huge shelf of concerns: Why was the Book of Mormon copying the Bible and View of the Hebrews? Why was the Book of Abraham scroll not translated the same by Egyptologists? Why did Joseph Smith translate a prank called the Kinderhook Plates? Why did the Mormon temple endowment copy the Freemasons? Do the Freemasons really go all the way back to King Solomon’s temple? Why did Brigham Young teach that Adam was God and the Father of Jesus Christ?!
