🎧 DJ & SOUND HEALER OF THE WEEK:
Novali is a multi-genre DJ, producer, and immersive performer whose underground festival roots stretch from Hawaiʻi to Colorado and beyond. Born from a background in visual storytelling, Nikki Drumm evolved from an Air Force veteran to a live painter before finding her voice as a sonic artist.
Her sound blends bass, world beats, UKG, grime, and dubstep, unified by an experimental edge and a deep sensitivity to atmosphere. She also releases music under her underground side project, Taylor Spliff, showcasing hip-hop-infused footwork, half-time, and DnB.
Every set is curated in real time, balancing intention with intuition to create a unique experience. Novali’s performances extend beyond traditional DJ sets, integrating live visuals, layered sound design, and her custom-built electric seashell violin, The Shellivarius, for a truly immersive journey.

Jayla is an Ecstatic Dance DJ from Barcelona whose journeys invite dancers into deeper presence, emotional release, and radical authenticity through movement. Drawing from a rich palette of organic downtempo, global bass, tribal rhythms, melodic techno, and psychedelic soundscapes, she crafts sets that are both deeply embodied and profoundly transformative.
Rather than simply playing music, Jayla creates emotional landscapes—guiding dancers through moments of softness and surrender, intensity and catharsis, joy and liberation. Her intention is to dissolve the layers that keep us disconnected from ourselves and one another, allowing the dance floor to become a space where masks fall away and genuine expression can emerge.
Having shared her music with Ecstatic Dance communities, conscious festivals, and alternative gatherings across Europe, Southeast Asia, and New Zealand, Jayla brings an international perspective rooted in one universal truth: the body already knows the way.

Katie Bird Sunshine is a local singer-songwriter here on Kaua’i. As a multi-dimension channel of light (Quantum I.M.U.A. Attunements) & sound (SongBath prayerformer), she intends to raise the vibration of the space she enters through voice, singing bowl, guitar, ukulele, flute, drum, and dance, etc.

RITUAL DANCE
An evening where strangers become friends. Where the music asks something of your body. Where movement becomes the language.
We'll begin with an all-levels Dance Lab from 6-7pm —a playful introduction designed to build confidence, connection, and the skills that make a dance floor come alive.
Then we enter Ritual Dance—the legendary dance experience created by Marques Wyatt, where rhythm becomes ritual and music becomes medicine. Through deep tribal grooves, global rhythms, and an intuitive musical journey, the dance floor becomes a space for presence, release, and genuine human connection.

This class is a movement life exploration. It is dynamic zen, body/mind connection, human awareness, and FREEstyle (to be free of style.) It is primal, inclusive, basic and advanced. Movers will discover more about themselves and therefore the world around them. We will unlock the keys to life, living and loving, connecting the 'dancer' and the 'yogi', yourself and the Universe! We will work both solo, duo and in groups. This lecture & dance workshop fusion is a movement catalyst, a life changer and a whole lot of fun!

Mantis (aka Kamalei) is a kanaka maoli, born and raised on the island of O‘ahu. No stranger to the ecstatic dance floor, his love for movement and music as medicine inspires him to create an electric and heart-opening experience for all movers. Mantis weaves live instrumentation—such as the didgeridoo, Native American flute, and percussion—into his sets to create an ethereal and primal soundscape. Drawing on his background in sound healing, he curates expansive journeys that bridge deep emotion and ecstatic rhythm. His music selection spans shamanic downtempo, tribal house, Afro-fusion, electronic dance, stanky-face bass, and organic world rhythms, unfolding as a pulsing, hypnotic journey that moves both bodies and hearts.
In addition to DJing, Mantis is also known for his Primordial Sound Meditation experiences. Blending cross-cultural instruments with modern digital textures, he alchemizes both worlds into a harmonious blend of energy that invokes peace and love in all who receive. His deep awareness of the healing power of sound has led him to become a skilled craftsman of ancient indigenous instruments, such as the didgeridoo and Native American-style flute. He currently handcrafts didgeridoos from agave stalks intentionally harvested in Hawai‘i nei, prayerfully embedding his mana (life force) into each piece as a living work of art.

Join me and a beautiful gathering of women and children for our monthly Mother Tree Dance & Potluck tomorrow, Friday, July 10, 3-6pm @ a private location in Anahola.
I’ll be kicking things off with a grounding Primal Embodiment Movement practice before we flow into a juicy, tribal-inspired ecstatic dance journey curated by my sister Capri.
We’ll close the afternoon with a special live looping vocal performance by Capri and me.
