First report on Tweek's post-imaging condition: His heart and trachea are fine. His vocal cords are also normal. His larynx is a little red, but that's from coughing. It doesn't look like a virus or bacteria, and the vet is leaning towards a congenital condition. His bronchi are collapsing. Not his lungs, which are in place, but the branches leading to the alveoli in his lungs are collapsing and becoming blocked intermittently. This causes coughing, which causes irritation, and it's a vicious cycle. The lungs protect themselves by secreting mucus, and it's this mucus that Tweek is expelling. So, he's literally coughing up his lungs. It will never be cured, since it's a malformation, and the lack of treatment hasn't helped. But we can treat the consequences (coughing, phlegm, etc.). Lifelong treatment. Morning and evening, one dose in a spacer device and lifelong cortisol treatment as well. without waiting for the results of the tests.
