Although the act of charging an outrageous fee isn't itself an issue, I believe the concept that developers have no alternatives to the app store is.
Charging ridiculous fees is okay on face value because in theory a free market economy will undercut these fees through competition. The problem we have here is that there is no free market and there is no competition for these developers. The very definition of anti-competition.
