Today's Topic:- Currency 💱 Currency is a medium of exchange of value. In simpler terms, currency is money in the form of paper/coins. 💰 Currency is an extremely complex topic. In this article , we will discuss currency and related subjects. It involves everything from exchange rates, and foreign exchange, to local use. Examples: INR or Indian Rupee, USD or US Dollar, EUR or Euro. 💵💸 Currencies are usually issued by countries’ central banks. In our case, this is the RBI — Reserve Bank of India. 🏦 Currencies are mainly of two kinds: fiat currencies & commodity currencies. ☄️ 🖥 Fiat currencies are issued and guaranteed by the government. It is based on the trust the citizens have on their government. The currency itself is not backed by any asset. Commodity currencies are backed by an asset. Usually, this is gold. So, say there’s a currency called the old dollar and it is backed by gold. Say 1 old dollar = 1 gram of gold.
