🇰🇭🌎 From AUPP to the World Trade Organization: Meet the First Cambodian Selected for the WTO Young Trade Leaders Program! AUPP is proud to celebrate Noppon Chhim, an AUPP alumnus who made history as the first Cambodian selected for the WTO Young Trade Leaders Program, joining seven young leaders selected from more than 1,300 applicants worldwide. During his recent trip to Geneva, Noppon took part in the WTO Public Forum and engaged with leaders and representatives from across the international trade community. He met with the WTO Director-General and Deputy Directors-General, made courtesy calls with Cambodia’s Ambassador to the WTO, the Malaysian Ambassador, and representatives from the European Union, and gained insights into international trade through discussions with representatives from different WTO departments. 🎓✨ AUPP Alumni Spotlight: Seang Pich Meet Seang Pich, an AUPP Class of 2025 graduate from the Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Diplomacy program, who graduated with honors and a minor in Economics. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Management at the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC). Throughout her journey, Pich has gained valuable international experience and achieved remarkable milestones, including interning at the U.S. Embassy in Cambodia, winning First Prize at the 16th National College Student Market Research and Analysis Competition “Zhengda Cup” National Finals for International Students in China, and earning Third Place in a public speaking competition. We are proud of Pich’s achievements and look forward to seeing how she continues to contribute to public-sector development in Cambodia and beyond. 🌎💙

🎓📚 Exploring Qualitative Research in International Relations and the Publication Process The Asia Research Lab (ARL), with support from the Faculty of Social Sciences at the American University of Phnom Penh (AUPP), successfully hosted an insightful session on “Qualitative Research in International Relations and Publication Process” on September 28, 2026. Led by Dr. Andrej Krickovic, Associate Professor of International Studies at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, China, the session explored key aspects of qualitative research, including developing research puzzles, research design, case selection, and the interpretive method of process tracing. Participants also gained insights into the research publication process, offering valuable perspectives on how to develop compelling research questions and turn rigorous academic work into publishable scholarship. 🎓✨ AUPP Eagle of the Month: Mam Seihareach Meet Mam Seihareach, a senior Bachelor of Science in Business student with a minor in Law at AUPP, whose university journey has taken him across business, law, international relations, student leadership, competitions, and professional experience. During his time at AUPP, Seihareach has also represented AUPP in competitions, including the CFA Research Challenge, where his team finished as the national runner-up, and the Faulkner Challenge, where he and his team earned First Place. Beyond campus, his experience with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation gave him the opportunity to contribute to economic diplomacy, attend high-level meetings, and engage with government institutions, international delegations, and business organizations. AUPP Students Engage in the Youth Innovation Challenge for Clean Water and Health AUPP students had the opportunity to engage with the WaterAid Cambodia team through an information session on the Youth Innovation Challenge: Time to Deliver. The session introduced students to how youth-led innovation and communication can contribute to addressing real-world challenges related to clean water, sanitation, and Public health. Students learned about the challenge, explored how to develop meaningful communication campaigns, and gained insights into turning their ideas into practical initiatives that can create positive social impact. More importantly, students were introduced to an exciting opportunity to compete with their own innovative ideas, develop real communication campaigns, access seed funding, and contribute to the broader effort to ensure clean water and better health for women, mothers, and communities. We look forward to seeing what our students will create and the impact their ideas can make!

Dr. Matthew Schnek, President of the American University of Phnom Penh, joined the panel at Meet & Greet with Mony 2026, where he engaged with more than 150 Cambodian students on higher education, scholarships, and future career opportunities. 💡 The event was hosted by AUPP alumnus Seng Rothsethamony and Ngov Menghieng, who shared insights and encouraged students to embrace creativity and technology in shaping their futures and communities. 🚀 Dr. Schnek also introduced students to AUPP’s academic programs and scholarship opportunities, helping them explore pathways for their higher education journey.
