If you can't make it to Austin to testify, at least call the members of the committee in support.
The Texas Sovereignty Act, HB 796, passed the Texas House 94-53 after failing several previous years, and is now headed to the Senate State Affairs Committee. If it passes, the law could be used to legitimize resistance against feds to provoke TEXIT via escalating tit-for-tat with the feds. Or during the process of independence, it could be used to jail feds who try to interfere with TEXIT.
Texans should contact the committee, especially the chairman Bryan Hughes, and also the President of the Texas Senate Dan Patrick to simply say that you support the bill. In case it passes the committee, contact your own Texas Senator in Austin. | 144 |
