I've watched TADC last episode so here's my thoughts about it. SPOILERS, BIG ONES! One of the first things I was taught as a therapist is that not everyone can be saved. THAT person had plenty of chances. A helping hand was extended to her time and again. She just wasn’t ready to take that step. She shared her pain once. She wasn’t able to handle the relationship that resulted from that. It’s too heavy a burden. And that only irreversibly hurt the person that wanted to help. That kind of emotional pain and burden makes it incompatible with “hey, I’m here for you.” It’s so realistic—I’ve seen it so many times in therapy that it genuinely hurt me. I’m grateful to Gooseworkx and Glitch for daring to tell such a bitter story. But does the episode also refuse to explain absolutely anything else and leave all the world-building elements hanging?
