BREAKING — MAJOR RELIEF FOR INDIA
🇺🇸 Trump has waived the Russia-related sanctions, restrictions and duties under the Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act. The waiver covers the provisions that could have triggered up to 100% additional tariffs on goods from major buyers of Russian crude/natural gas, including India, for qualifying new purchases.
| 2 | 🚨 GOLD INVESTORS, TAKE NOTE! MUTUAL FUNDS HALT FRESH INVESTMENTS IN GOLD FoFs
Several Indian mutual fund houses have temporarily restricted fresh investments in Gold ETF Fund of Funds (FoFs), effective October 16, 2026.
What has changed?
🔹 Fresh lump-sum investments are restricted in affected schemes.
🔹 New SIP and STP registrations and switch-ins are also restricted, depending on the scheme.
🔹 Existing SIP instalments registered before the cut-off can continue, subject to scheme-specific terms.
🔹 Redemptions and switch-outs remain permitted under the applicable scheme rules.
🔹 Direct Gold ETFs traded on stock exchanges remain available for investment.
Why is this happening?
The fund houses' notices generally do not specify the reason. The restrictions come amid concerns about rupee pressure, gold import demand and rising investment flows into gold-linked products.
According to AMFI data cited by Moneycontrol, Gold ETFs attracted ₹4,450.61 crore in September 2026, up from ₹2,596.70 crore in August.
What should investors do?
✔️ Check the latest notice issued by your mutual fund house.
✔️ Do not assume every SIP top-up or new registration will be accepted.
✔️ Before buying a Gold ETF, compare its market price with its indicative NAV (iNAV).
Important: This is not a blanket ban on gold investments. The restrictions apply to specified schemes and transactions, and investors should verify the exact terms with their fund house. | 4 |

| 18 | 🚨 RBI OPENS SPECIAL DOLLAR WINDOW FOR 3 OIL PSUs
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced a special facility to meet the entire daily dollar requirements of three state-run oil companies amid pressure on the Indian rupee.
🔹 Companies Covered:
• Indian Oil Corporation (IOC)
• Hindustan Petroleum (HPCL)
• Bharat Petroleum (BPCL)
📅 Effective From: October 12, 2026
📌 What Does This Mean?
✅ RBI will supply US dollars to these companies through designated banks.
✅ The move aims to reduce dollar demand in the open market and ease pressure on the rupee.
✅ The facility will remain in place until further notice.
📉 Why Now? The rupee closed near ₹96.71 against the US dollar on Friday, amid rising pressure from global uncertainties and oil prices.
