Received a call from a “government official”? Beware of impersonation scams. Watch out for calls claiming to be from: 1. A police officer saying you are part of an investigation – they might even accuse you of being involved in criminal activities; 2. A bank officer saying your bank account or credit card has been compromised; or 3. A government official (e.g. IRAS, MAS, MDDI, LTA) saying you have not paid your bill/fine or that your mobile number has been misused for scams. Do not be deceived just because the caller knows your personal information (e.g. your name or NRIC number). It may be a scam! Call the 24/7 ScamShield Helpline at 1799 to check if you are unsure if something is a scam.

The 24-hour PSI entered the Unhealthy range this morning in the central region due to haze – the first time since 8 Oct 2023. The agencies in the Government’s Haze Task Force have rolled out their respective action plans and advisories for the protection of the health and well-being of the public. From this evening, we will begin providing daily haze advisories which will include the 24-hour PSI forecast, to help you plan your activities ahead. For real-time air quality updates, refer to the NEA website, haze microsite and myENV app. Use the 1-hour PM2.5 levels and personal guide when planning immediate outdoor activities.

Scammers are taking over Telegram accounts via fake government voucher schemes ⚠️ Fraudulent messages impersonating CDC, GST, and Transport vouchers are circulating on Telegram, tricking victims into giving up personal details and Telegram OTPs to seize control of their accounts. At least 52 cases reported since January 2026.   Stay Alert!    🚨Never click unsolicited links claiming to offer government vouchers or benefits and never share your Telegram OTP with anyone.   ✅Protect your Telegram account by enabling the Two-Step Verification feature (Settings > Privacy and Security > Two-Step Verification).   ☎️Unsure if it's a scam? Good neighbours make great communities. 🏘️ From 1 Sep 2026, the Mediation Direction (MD) framework and Community Relations Unit (CRU) will be expanded nationwide — so neighbours have stronger support to work things out more effectively and at an earlier stage. MDs require disputing neighbours to attend mediation at the Community Mediation Centre (CMC). They're legally binding, but the goal is always the same: bringing neighbours together to talk things out. As our children navigate school, exams and the expectations around them, it can sometimes be difficult for parents to know when encouragement becomes pressure, and how best to support them when they are struggling. This Friday, we’re hosting a free parenting workshop, “When Pressure Becomes Harm”, where parents can learn more about recognising signs of stress in children and supporting them without adding to the pressure they may already be feeling. 📅 Friday, 28 August 2026 ⏰ 7.00pm – 9.30pm 📍 Jurong Spring Community Club If you have school-going children, I would strongly encourage you to join us.
