buenos días~ ☀️ our very first stop for #TaxTakesSpain, La Rambla! my eyes caught a flower shop along the way, so of course we had to stop and look around, then we sat down for a bit. while we were taking a short break, Shaher randomly gave me a tiny paper flower… 🥹🌸 i still have no idea where he got the paper from, but okay… boyfriend duties i guess? hahaha.
we continued our little adventure and made our way to Mercat de la Boqueria. i was honestly amazed by how much fruit there was everywhere. everything looked so fresh and colorful that i suddenly had no idea what i wanted to try first huhu. i just stood there going back and forth for a while before, very predictably, ending up with strawberries because… well, i love strawberries! 🤏🏻

⋆.𐙚 after spending the whole day wandering around the town, i think we pretty much used up every bit of energy we had hikd. so when we finally got some free time, shaher and i decided that our only plan for the rest of the night was to stay in our hotel room and do absolutely nothing. we spent some time out on the balcony, just taking in the view, and talking about whatever came to mind. then we went back inside and ended the night with netflix until we were both too sleepy to keep our eyes open.
for me personally, sometimes doing absolutely nothing together is the best way to recharge and get our energy back. ‘cause somehow, these little moments always end up being my favourite part. ♡

i spent the night strolling around passeig de gràcia and the gothic quarter with faketax #TaxTakesSpain, just wandering around and enjoying barcelona at our own pace. then we ended up having dinner with sangria and tapas, yum yummyyy! 😋🍷
before calling it a day, i dragged shaher out for ice cream because ((of course)) i couldn’t let the day end without one xixixixi. fyi, he doesn’t even like ice cream, so we shared one and he probably had 1% of it while i happily finished the other 99% hahahaha. 😝🤏🏻💗 what a perfect little ending to our first day in barcelona!

Somewhere in the middle of all that wandering, Olaf called. And apparently, it was finally our turn to have our little moment on the phone. One by one, Ali, Serenoi, Britany, Jose, Shaher, and Francis joined in, each taking their turn to call and catch up for a while.
It was such a small thing in the middle of a day spent exploring a city so far away, but somehow hearing familiar voices made everything feel a little closer to home. Maybe that's the sweetest part of traveling—the little moments that remind you that even when you're wandering somewhere new, there are still people waiting to hear about it. 🤍 | 9 |
