| 2 | We're hiring a Laravel Developer at Astute Softwares, and I wanted to write this one myself rather than just post a listing.
Here's the honest setup: we're mostly a Python shop. But we have a line of clients whose products run on Laravel, and that work is growing faster than we can staff it. So I'm looking for someone solid who knows Laravel well and wants to build it out with us.
This isn't a sink-or-swim role. You'd join a small, senior team, and our seniors guide you throughout, from architecture decisions to code reviews. You'd work directly with me on the bigger calls. The Laravel work would be yours to build and look after, but never something you're left to figure out alone. And because we live in Python day to day, there's real room to grow into that side over time if you're curious.
The actual work: building and maintaining backend services in Laravel and PHP, designing and consuming REST APIs that plug into client systems, working with Eloquent, Blade, Queues, and Middleware, and keeping databases clean and queries efficient. Real systems that real clients across Europe depend on every day.
What I'm looking for:
2 to 3 years of hands-on Laravel experience
A degree in CS, IT, Software Engineering, or something related
Strong PHP fundamentals and code other people can actually maintain
Solid grasp of REST APIs and relational databases
Someone who takes ownership and communicates clearly
Curiosity about Python is a bonus, not a must
