Hello MindShifters, welcome to a new trading week! We saw some pretty large moves after the US election results which then culminated into some very nice reversals. From here we are just looking for confirmation on some of the newly formed peaks and if there is any possibility of reset continuation or upset of the current sentiment. For the most part we have gone back into ranging conditions on USDX. What we need to see now is if it continues to drive lower as it began to do at the end of the week, or if it will hold the lows and push higher. This is generally the time of year when things start to slow down and consolidate so I would not be surprised if we see more stagnation in the following weeks ahead. I believe that we will see maybe one more spike in volatility when we do get the official US election results next month, but until then we will just have to watch what the market gives us. Hello MindShifters, welcome to a new trading week! Hopefully we won't have any surprises around the corner with the residual effects of the US election last week... I personally remained a spectator all week, but I definitely saw a lot of moves that played out that I was tempted to trade. I'm sure there were many of you that threw caution into the wind and traded anyway, and whether or not you profited or lost I'm sure you gained a valuable experience from it. For those of you looking to pursue trading as a professional career, it's times like these when you will need to make a difficult decision as to whether or not to put your money at risk in an environment that is potentially less favorable. Of course there is potential to profit, but why expose yourself to risk in a situation where risk management can essentially be null and void? You may not relate to this now if you are trading a small account, but if you are trading large sums of capital you can appreciate what I am saying. One wrong move can completely take you by surprise...even when you had precautions in place...and that's when you will learn maybe one of the most valuable lessons in your trading career. Learn to recognize when you have an edge, and when it is prudent to put your capital at risk. The markets are not going anywhere...there will always be an opportunity to trade and profit, but do not assume that you must always be in there trading every chance you get. Hello MindShifters, welcome to a new trading week! Hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend and ready to tackle the charts as we look to market open! With the US elections still looming a couple of weeks away, we should still be approaching our trades with a bit of caution and definitely with proper risk management 🙂 While we don't have any big news volatility scheduled anytime soon, because of the current market environment there could be an unexpected move or event that potentially can do alot of harm if we are not prepared. I will personally be dialing back my trading going into the last quarter of the year as I normally do, but this year because of the unique events that we are currently facing, I will be looking to trade what in my eyes would be a sure thing. For those that haven't forgotten I will be hosting a live webinar review either next Sunday or the following, depending on my timing & availability. Hello MindShifters welcome to a new trading week! Looking at a potentially quiet start to the week due to having no real high impact news driving volatility. Also note that we do have a bank holiday for USD on Monday, which could mean relatively stagnant market behavior in the majors. The US presidential elections are coming up in a few weeks, and any events leading up to that could give an unpredictable turn or surprise move... so even though we are not expecting high volatility, you should still remain cautious during this period. I will be expecting to see continued strength in DXY this week, but depending on what happens at key levels and the response to NFP that could change by the end of the week. As always I would encourage everyone to try to get their trading done before Friday so that you can just relax and let things play out naturally with no stress 🍹 I really appreciate everyone who has taken the time to vote in the poll posted above last week. Hello MindShifters welcome to a new trading week! As expected we saw some pretty big moves towards the middle of the week last week for EUR pairs and some nice mid-week reversal opportunities. GBP pairs completely melted and look to be continuing down until we see some significant strength back to the upside. This week with both FOMC & GBP high impact news on Wed/Thurs, it would be wise to trade GBP pairs extremely cautiously going forward... especially with Brexit uncertainties also making its way into the fold again. DXY continues to trade inside the large daily range, but FOMC will possibly kick it in a favorable direction for us on Wednesday... so we will just have to see if it will play out as expected. If we do see what we want to see, then we should have some pretty nice trading opportunities towards the middle of the week again.
