The NRR The Noise Reduction Rating, or NRR, is a rating given to hearing devices in the United States and also Canada. The NRR is given in the United States because of special regulations the U.S. gives to hearing devices. The offices of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulate the safety and reliability of the noise reduction products with an NRR rating. @atashneeshan The SNR The NRR is only given around North America with the United States and Canada. The other central noise reduction rating system is the Single Number Rating, or the SNR. SNR is the noise reduction rating given to products bought and sold in the European Union. Although both rating systems are designed to rate products based on their ability to stop noise, the SNR is essentially different and has different values compared with the NRR @atashneeshan How to Calculate SNR SNR stands for Signal to Noise Ratio. Here, signal represents the desired output of the system while the noise represents the undesired output. This quantity is frequently calculated to assess how well the system works. That is, how high the desired output is with respect to the undesired noise level. The higher the SNR, the better is the system performance. Calculation of SNR requires knowledge of the average values of signal and noise levels. Instructions 1 Divide the average signal power by the average noise power using a calculator and call it SNR. For example; if the signal power is 20.8 and the noise power is 1.4, the formula is given as SNR = 20.8/1.4 = 14.8. 2 Call the base-10 logarithm of the SNR, SNRL. This can be done by entering the value of the SNR calculated earlier in the calculator and pressing "LOG" button. For the example; SNRL = log(SNR) = log(14.8) = 1.17. 3 Multiply the SNRL by 10 to get the SNR level in decibel. Decibel is a unit frequently used in situations where the parameter can assume any value between a very wide range of values. This is generally the case with SNR for most systems and, therefore, is common to represent this parameter in decibels. For the example; SNRdb = 10 X 1.17 = 11.7 decibel. @atashneeshan

NRR (Noise Reduction Rating) طبقه بندي است كه در ايالات متحده و همچنين كانادا به وسايل حفاظت شنوايي بر اساس قوانين EPA و OSHA داده شده است كه قابليت اعتماد و ايمني محصولات حفاظتي و كنترلي سروصدا بر اساسNRR كتترل و سنجيده شوند. SNR (Single Number Rating) فقط براي شمال آمريكا و كانادا، سيستم نرخ كاهش سروصدا وجود دارد كه براي نرخ كاهش سروصدا براي خريد و فروش محصولات در اتحاديه اروپاست.اگر چه هر دوي اين سيستم ها براي سنجش توانايي محصولات در كنترل و حفاظت سروصدا طراحي شده اند اماSNR ذاتا متفاوت بوده و مقادير متفاوتي در مقايسه باNRR دارد. چگونگي محاسبه SNR نسبت سيگنال به سروصدا است كه مفهوم سيگنال، نشان دهنده خروجي مطلوب و سروصدا خروجي نامطلوب سيستم است.اين كميت بارها براي ارزيابي كاركرد بهينه يك سيستممحاسبه شدهاست.SNR بالاتر نشان دهنده عملكرد بهتر سيستم بوده و محاسبه آن به متوسط مقدار سيگنال و سطح سروصدا نياز دارد. روش محاسبه SNR متوسط قدرت سيگنال را بر متوسط قدرت سروصدا تقسيم مي كنيم براي مثال:اگر قدرت سيگنال 8/20 و قدرت سروصدا 4/1 باشد. SNR = 20.8/1.4 = 14.8 . SNRL لگاريتمSNR است بر پايه 10 براي NRR، تعريفي به ازاي تبديل مستقيم وجود نداشته اما يك راهنماي صحيح و معقولانه به شكل زير وجود دارد: NRR+2 or 3=SNR NRR=22=±SNR25 @atashneeshan
