WHAT MOVED THE MARKET
- US Senate War Powers Resolution: The Senate voted 50-48 to limit the administration's ability to continue hostilities against Iran, following the approval of a 60-day roadmap for a final nuclear deal in Bürgenstock, Switzerland.
- Strategy Stock Devaluation: Shares of the major Bitcoin-holding firm fell below $100 for the first time in two years. Analysts report the company is overstretched and needs to stop buying Bitcoin to rebuild cash reserves as its stock price trades below the net asset value.
- Binance MiCA Withdrawal: Binance has withdrawn its MiCA license application in Greece just before the July 1 deadline. While the exchange assures users that funds are safe, this has created significant uncertainty for EU-based traders regarding their ability to trade after next week.
- Massive Institutional Transfers: BlackRock moved 7,160 BTC ($447M) and 98,850 ETH ($164M) to Coinbase Prime in the last 48 hours. Simultaneously, an a16z-linked wallet withdrew 25,560 ETH from Binance, signaling a major reshuffling of institutional holdings.
- Prediction Market Legal Battles: Kalshi is seeking a $40 billion valuation while simultaneously suing Illinois officials over prediction market restrictions. This comes as the CFTC sues Kentucky, marking the ninth state involved in jurisdiction fights over these markets.
PRICE ACTION
- Bitcoin is currently trading at $60,657.00, down 3.1% in the last 24 hours. The price nearly lost the $59,000 level earlier today as the Dollar Index (DXY) surged.
- Over $100,000,000 in long positions were liquidated in a single hour today. This included a massive $14.15 million liquidation of a single ETH/USD long position on the Hyperliquid exchange.
- Ethereum (ETH) has dropped to $1,616.86, a 2.8% decline. Other major assets followed the downward trend, with XRP at $1.07 (-3.2%) and Solana at $67.59 (-2.7%).
- Bitcoin has officially entered the dead zone on the Rainbow Chart after a 50% drawdown from its October peak of $262,000. It is currently down 35% for the year 2026.
FRESH SIGNALS
- Extreme Sentiment Divergence: The Fear Index hit a reading of 14, the deepest level of fear ever tracked. However, exchange reserves remain at 7-year lows (2.21 million BTC), and miners are actually returning to the network.
- Network Hash Rate Recovery: Despite the price drop, hash rate recovered nearly 7% in six days to 933.6 exahashes per second. This is forcing a difficulty adjustment of +4.9%, meaning the protocol is getting harder to mine as compute power returns.
- New Demand Zone: A $530 million buy wall has emerged just below current prices, suggesting a rock-solid floor is being attempted by whales in the $60,000 to $61,500 range.
- Declining Open Interest: Futures open interest has declined 17% over the last 30 days to $51.44 billion. This indicates that the current sell-off is an orderly closing of positions rather than a panic-driven liquidation event.
