Once, this room was filled with voices, but now it remembers only silence.
The old sofa remained where it had always been, patiently waiting for someone who would never return.
Dust settled upon the velvet like the passing of years, soft and almost merciful.
Sometimes, in the quietest hours, the house seemed to breathe around it.
And if you listened closely, you could almost hear the echoes of a life that had vanished long ago.
