PSIR Current Affairs Snapshot: India–Bangladesh Relations

In short - argument of david malone "better at winning arguments than winning friends" Tharoor's argument - Argumentative India needs to do synthesis of knowledge rather than impose Indian Ideas and understanding over the narrative of China or any other successful country. Why this type of debate or discourse has emerged in India - Asis Nandy - " Colonialism alters the psychology of the colonized, making them adopt the hyper-masculine, aggressive competitive traits of the colonizer. The loss of the receptive, synthetic spirit of Samvad is a casualty of this psychological transformation" which can help us understand this dimension of article. quote which can be useful as conclusion The Long-Term Conclusion: Technology will always possess the inherent capacity to generate extraordinary wealth alongside extreme, destabilizing inequality. The core function of modern politics is not to halt technological progress, but to actively construct an institutional mechanism that strikes a sustainable balance between the interests of private capital and the survival of the broader social fabric.

Namaskar Dosto 🙏 अब से PSIR के लिए जो भी ज़रूरी News होगी, उसे यहाँ Post करेंगे। शुरुआत इस हफ़्ते की सबसे Important news से। 🌍 PSIR Current Affairs Snapshot : India–Nepal Relations 📰 Recently, Nepal's Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal visited Delhi (6–7 June). What makes it notable is that this was the first India visit by any minister of the new RSP government (PM Balendra Shah) formed in March, so it's the new government's first signal of the kind of relationship it wants with India. 🔗Syllabus: India and its Neighbours, India–Nepal relations, Neighbourhood First Policy. 🎯Two things stood out. 1. First, the language of a reset. Jaishankar said there's now an opportunity to "decisively shift" the ties. Khanal called India Nepal's "most important partner," spoke of "result-driven diplomacy," and used one line worth remembering, "no old baggage." This is essentially an indirect acknowledgement of the bitterness of the 2015 blockade and the 2020 map controversy, and an attempt to move past it. 2. Second, the stance on the border. Khanal said Nepal maintains its claim on Kalapani–Lipulekh–Limpiyadhura, but does not want "mediation" from any third party. 👉 Some key points (useful in answers): 1. "No third-party mediation" is an affirmation of India's principle of bilateralism, the same stand India has taken with Pakistan (Shimla Agreement) and China too, so one example fits in three places. 2. Khanal's framing of an "ancient civilisation" and a "civilisational bond" connects to soft power (Joseph Nye). 3. Hydropower, connectivity, water resources, digital. This is functional cooperation, the classic liberal institutionalist argument that issue-based cooperation builds trust over time. 4. Despite the change in government, India still calling Nepal a "priority partner" reflects the continuity of foreign policy. 5. "No old baggage" signals an intent to acknowledge the old trust deficit and move forward. 📝 Practice Question: "India's Neighbourhood First Policy is tested most acutely in its relations with Nepal." Critically examine. (10 marks) 👉 News Link: The Hindu
