Case 3 A 40 year-old man was admitted to a hospital after a car accident. Then he had fever & stiffness in the jaw muscles, several hours later, he had repeated violent spasms with neck stiffness. A stained smear from wound swab showed Gram-positive long bacilli with terminal large spores.

Case 2 A 25 year-old man was admitted to a hospital complaining of visual disturbances, inability to swallow and flaccid paralysis. These manifestations were observed after ingestion of a canned food by 20 hours. There is no fever or gastrointestinal symptoms.

Case 1 A 12 year-old child developed sudden onset of fever, rash, severe headache and stiff neck. His mother took him to a nearby children clinic, where the physician advised her to go immediately to fever hospital. At the hospital, a blood and CSF samples were obtained for investigations. A stained smear from CSF showed a gram-negative diplococci intra- and extracellular. Oxidase test was positive.
