💵 Visa, Mastercard, BlackRock, Stripe, Coinbase, and BNY are reportedly teaming up to launch a new stablecoin: Open USD (OUSD). The proposed model is quite different from today's major stablecoins: • Free minting for partners • Revenue sharing from reserve yield (Treasuries minus a small management fee) • Shared governance instead of a single issuer controlling the network, as is the case with USDT and USDC.
