Okay, a short msg to clear some doubts
SCAR came as a bolt from the blue for the SF. They conducted thorough trials back in 2017–18, and the last round of trials, which were carried out in a hurry, took place in 2024..
Then, out of nowhere, the Ministry of Defence ( MoD ) put it on the table just last month
But good news is that, only few hundred units are to be procured for entire Para SF units, but they'll mainly be issued to the newly raised units
Don't have liberty to say the things much... but, two AR-15 based rifles will very soon become the primary service rifles for older Para SF units
