Tehrik-i-Taliban Kashmir has issued a statement condemning what it describes as “genocide” by Pakistani security forces against Kashmiri protesters demanding public rights. The group accused the Pakistani military of suppressing the movement and standing with India in undermining Kashmiri self-determination. It also claimed that the military is trained by the Royal Indian Army and serves U.S. interests. The group announced its support for the Joint Public Action Committee in Kashmir and instructed its fighters to target only military and Ranger personnel. It called for the establishment of militant units across Kashmir and invited other jihadist groups to join.

Ittehad-ul-Mujahideen Pakistan (IMP) has issued a statement regarding recent events in Azad Kashmir. The group alleged that security forces are using lethal force against protesters demanding public rights, and that a curfew has been imposed across the state. IMP rejected any solution that creates discord among Muslims and called on the people of Azad Kashmir to rise up for the establishment of an Islamic system, and to “destroy every institution” that, in its view, keeps the country subservient to the United States.
