An audio message from an alleged militant in Kurram has emerged. The speaker claims that an incident occurred on May 20 in Kurram Agency involving a gathering of 32 individuals. According to the speaker, their Tashkeel, was ambushed by Pakistani security forces. The speaker alleges that 28 fighters were killed, while four, including himself, were injured and taken captive. These individuals were later recovered by Kazim, the Shadow Governor of Kurram for the TTP.
Note: This claim has not been independently verified.
Our opinion regarding this.
We believe this is a lie and that the kill count was 18 (including commander Mumtaz Ummati and the brother of Mufti Hassan who founded ISKP) not 28. We believe that a clash did occur between TTP and JUA fighters but that they later reconciled behind the scenes and released this audio as damage control.
