IAS Tukaram Mundhe has become a darling of ordinary people. In just 30 days, one officer has shown how much difference a single individual can make. Ironically, this was meant to be a side posting after he was shifted out. Yet he has shown just how relevant that "less important" posting really is. On the other hand, I live in Delhi. There is no Tukaram Mundhe here. Every day I wonder what exactly I'm eating. What kind of milk? What kind of paneer? What kind of ice cream? Sometimes the thought itself is enough to make me shudder. It also makes me wonder: what are so many other officers, occupying equally responsible posts, doing?
