Crossing the Sirāt (Bridge) Above the Hell-Fire
Imām al-Qurtubī رحمه الله said:
Consider for a moment on what will happen to your heart when you see the Sirāt and its thinness. Then your gaze falls upon Jahannam beneath it, and your ears are struck by the dreadful inhalation of the fire and its fury. You have been commanded to walk upon the Sirāt while you are weak, your heart trembling, your foot shaking, and your back weighed down with the burden of sins that prevent you even from walking upon the level ground of the earth, let alone upon the sharpness of the Sirāt. And what will become of you when you place one foot upon it, feel its sharpness, and are forced to lift your other foot, while those before you slip and stumble, and the keepers of Hell seize them with hooks and grappling irons. As you watch them being overturned, their faces lowered toward the Fire and their legs raised above them, what a terrifying sight it is, what a difficult ascent, and what a narrow crossing! [Al-Tadhkirah (757)] ——— Translated by: Rasheed al-Canadi

Madhāhib Fanaticism
Question:
What is the ruling on (taʿassub) fanaticism toward a madhhab (school of jurisprudence) when it contradicts the evidence?
Shaykh Saʿad Al-Khathlān حفظه الله:
I advise students of knowledge concerning this matter. Madhhab fanaticism means that a person becomes blindly attached to the opinion of a particular scholar or to one of the recognized schools of jurisprudence, even when the opinion of that scholar or school contradicts the evidence from the Qur'an and the Sunnah. This is an incorrect. Allah, the Exalted, says: “And (remember) the Day (Allāh) will call to them, and say: "What answer gave you to the Messengers?" [Surah al-Qasas (28:65)] He does not say, "What response did you give to so-and-so?" Rather, He says, "What response did you give to the Messengers?" Therefore, what befits the student of knowledge is to adhere to the evidence from the Qur'an and the Sunnah. Yes, in learning and studying fiqh, he may begin with a particular juristic school so that he develops a sound foundation. However, he should not be fanatically attached to it; rather, he should be attached to the evidence from the Qur’an and the Sunnah.” ——— Translated by: Rasheed al-Canadi Source (arabic): https://t.me/saadalkhthlan/16171

The Timings for the Morning and Evening Adhkār
Question:
When should the morning and evening adhkār be recited?
Shaykh Yahya al-Hajūri حفظه الله
:
The morning adhkār are to be recited after Fajr, and its timing extends until sunrise. The evening adhkār are to be recited after the ʿAsr prayer, and its time extends until sunset. Whoever misses any of them may still make them up, even after the preferred time has passed. This [i.e., the preferred time] is due to the statement of Allah, the Exalted: “And glorify the praises of your Lord before the rising of the sun, and before its setting” [Sūrah Tā Hā (20:130)] The evidence for making them up is what has been authentically established: that the Prophet ﷺ made up the two Sunnah rakʿahs of Dhuhr after ʿAsr. Also, it is authentically established that he encouraged steadfastness and consistency in righteous deeds. ——— Translated by: Rasheed al-Canadi Source (arabic): https://t.me/sh_yahia_duroos/526 Official English Channel: https://t.me/ShaykhYahyaEn

From the Signs of Allāh: Lightning⚡️
Shaykh ʿAbdulazīz al-Rājihi حفظه الله:
“And among His Signs is that He shows you the lightning, for fear and for hope” [Surah Ar-Rum (30:24)] If the lightning is intense and successive, and there is concern that it may bring rain, hail, or something else from which there could be harm, then people become afraid. At other times, the lightning is less intense, and the rain and clouds are more gentle, so people have a sense of hopefulness. This is how people are, sometimes they are hopeful, and at other times they are fearful. “And among His Signs is that He shows you the lightning, for fear and for hope.” [Surah Ar-Rum (30:24)] This is one of Allāh’s signs. ——— Translated by: Rasheed al-Canadi Source (arabic): https://t.me/shrajhi/1957

Tranquility In Salafiyyah
Shaykh Abdulhamīd Al-Zuʿkari حفظه الله:
The Salafi daʿwah is a daʿwah of tranquility; tranquility among its people, in its evidences, in its propagation, in its scholars, and among its students of knowledge. Otherwise, some of the Marākiz, if they were in the hands of the Ahlul-Bidʿah or the general masses, we would need the police just to manage their affairs and resolve their disputes. But the Marākiz of Ahlul-Hadith, All praise is due to Allāh, you don’t find any of this. You find the markaz being managed by its shaykh and those with him without chaos, without commotion, without unrest, and without fitnah. If something does arise that requires correction, it is addressed with a word of clarification, and the evil disappears and comes to an end. That is because it is a daʿwah founded upon evidence, and whatever is founded upon evidence, its people are upon the straight path. Tranquility, calmness, attentive listening, and silence; Islam has instilled these qualities in Muslims. When the Prophet ﷺ departed from ʿArafah, he said to the people: "Remain calm, for righteousness is not attained through rushing." And when he ﷺ saw some people hurrying to the masjid, he instructed them: "Proceed with calmness." Even when walking to the prayer, maintain tranquility. Be tranquil in your dress. Be tranquil in your vehicles. Be tranquil in your home. The opposite of tranquility is impulsiveness and overstepping the limits. Whoever is not known for tranquility, it is feared that he may go astray. ——— Translated by: Rasheed al-Canadi Source (arabic): https://t.me/A_lzoukory/99114 Official English Channel: https://t.me/abdulhamid12

🔖Related to the previous post: Shaykh Ibn al-‘Uthaymeen رحمه الله provides an explanation regarding giving salām to a woman. This is to further clarify what was mentioned by Shaykh Yahya حفظه الله here: https://t.me/riversofknowledge/84
Narrated Abu Hazim: Sahl said, "We used to feel happy on Fridays." I asked Sahl, "Why?" He said, "There was an old woman of our acquaintance who used to send somebody to Buda'a (Ibn Maslama said, "Buda'a was a garden of date-palms at Medina). She used to pull out the silq (a kind of vegetable) from its roots and put it in a cooking pot, adding some powdered barley over it (and cook it). After finishing the Jumua (Friday) prayer we used to (pass by her and) greet her, whereupon she would present us with that meal, so we used to feel happy because of that. We used to have neither a midday nap, nor meals, except after the Friday prayer." (See Hadith No. 60, Vol.2) https://sunnah.com/bukhari:6248
Shaykh Ibn al-‘Uthaymeen رحمه الله said in his explanation of this Hadith: “In this Hadith there is evidence that there is no harm in men giving salām to a woman. If the situation is like this story, then there is no problem with men giving salām to a woman, because there is no fear of temptation (fitnah): there is no seclusion (khalwah), there is no prohibited matter, the men are a group, and the woman is elderly. However, if the woman is young and the man is alone, then giving salām in this situation may lead to temptation. Therefore, we do not say that giving salām in such a case is legislated, because of the fitnah that may occur for both the man and the woman. If we were to say that whenever a young man passes by a young woman he should greet her, this would result in great evil. Young men who have no good intentions would begin seeking opportunities to approach young women: whenever they see a young woman, they would hurry to say, “Salāmu ‘alaykum,” and this would lead to a great fitnah. Therefore, we say: if the situation is like that of the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them), where they were a group of men who would come to an elderly woman, and temptation was completely unlikely from every angle, and they would give her salām, then there is no harm in that. Likewise, if the woman is someone he knows, and someone who frequently visits his household, and he sees her in his home while his family is present, then he may give her salām, and there is no issue with that. The important point is that the basic ruling is permissibility. However, if there is a potential harm or prohibited matters, then it becomes necessary to prevent it.” ——— Sharh Sahih al-Bukhāri | Kitāb al-Istidhān | Chapter: (16) Greeting of men to women Translated by: Rasheed al-Canadi Source (Arabic):

Beware The Fitnah Of Women
Shaykh Yahya al-Hajūrī حفظه الله said:
"Do not belittle a glance that can destroy your heart. The (forbidden) glance is a poisoned arrow from the arrows of Shaytān Except for the first, unintentional glance, for it is slight. Turn your gaze away, and it will not affect you. But as for prolonging the sinful gaze, persisting in it, and standing by the roadside where women pass by, this is the very essence of temptation. It is a sickness of the heart. The Prophet ﷺ said regarding sitting along the roads: 'Lowering the gaze is one of its rights.' Beware, O student of knowledge; beware, O Muslim, of being alone with a non-mahram woman. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Beware of entering upon women.’ They said, ‘What about the in-law?’ He replied, ‘The in-law is death.' Do not be deceived by what some people say: “She is only a work colleague.” Beware of a woman traveling with you without a mahram. All of these are sources of temptation, and they are established by the textual evidences. Disregarding them is from Shaytān. Beware of conversing with a woman, except perhaps an elderly woman in whom there is no temptation, just as they used to greet that elderly woman who would prepare some food for them as its mentioned in the sahih. As for conversation and speech, even giving salām, do not be the one to initiate the salām with her, nor let her initiate it with you. Prevention is better than cure." ——— Sharh Sahih Muslim 26, Muharram, 1448 | 11, July 2026 Translated by: Rasheed al-Canadi Source (Arabic): https://t.me/sh_yahia_duroos/24375 Official English Channel: https://t.me/ShaykhYahyaEn
