Never hesitate before purging elements of poison & bad apples within your sphere of influence. They can effect you more then you would think. Every movement eventually accumulates dead weight: old grudges, useless traditions, petty cliques, failed strategies, inflated egos, and people more interested in guarding their little positions than accomplishing anything meaningful. Eventually, preserving the movement exactly as it is becomes another way of ensuring its decline. That is where youth enters. We have fewer loyalties to old feuds and less patience for rituals that no longer work. We are willing to question what others treat as sacred, experiment where others have grown comfortable, and rebuild what has been allowed to decay.
