What is Hash? A Hash is a unique digital fingerprint of any data. It works like this: You put any information (a transaction, a block, even a photo) into a special function. It instantly gives you a fixed-length code (the hash). Even a tiny change in the input completely changes the output. Example: “BTB” → produces one hash “BTB!” → produces a totally different hash Why Hash is important in Blockchain: Every block has its own hash. It also contains the previous block’s hash → this links the blocks into a secure chain. If anyone tries to change even one transaction, the hash breaks → everyone knows it was tampered with.
Simple rule: Hash = Security + Connection

Bitcoin devs just built a prototype to protect wallets from quantum attacks. Even in worst case scenarios, Bitcoin could pause normal spending and still let users recover their funds using this new method. Quantum defenses are already being built. #news@btbastublockchain

🔍 Community Q&A: 3 Words That Still Confuse Us You voted, we listened! Here are the 3 most confusing blockchain words, explained simply 👇 1. 🔐 Cryptography Cryptography is a way of hiding information so only the right person can read it. In Blockchain when you send a transaction, cryptography scrambles it so nobody can steal or fake it. It also proves that you are the one who sent it. Your private key = your PIN (never share it) Your wallet address = your account number (safe to share)
Simple truth: Without cryptography, blockchain doesn't exist. It's the security layer behind everything.
2. 📒 Ledger A ledger is a list that records every transaction that ever happened. Old banks had physical notebooks where every deposit and withdrawal was written down. Blockchain does the same thing, except:
✅ It's digital ✅ Thousands of computers hold an identical copy ✅ Past records can NEVER be edited or deleted
3. 🤝 Consensus Consensus is how thousands of strangers agree on what is true, without needing to trust each other. No CEO. No central server. Just a set of rules that makes every participant reach the same answer on their own. Two popular methods:
Proof of Work = Solve a hard puzzle to earn the right to add new records (Bitcoin) 🪙 Proof of Stake = Lock up your coins as a promise that you will act honestly (Ethereum)
And if there's another blockchain word confusing you, comment below and we might feature it next! 👇 @btbastublockchain #Blockchain #Web3 #BlockchainBasics
