Leo Design (Non - Design)

I think 4 or 5 years ago when I was in high school(my brother Samson started some illustration businnes that also motivated me) I wanted to try photoshop and illustrator and download a bunch of pirated courses and one of them covered UI/UX that's the first time I tried it but I focused on taking entrance exam and I wasn't working freshman year I would say I seriously picked up designing about 3 years ago and continued ever since

So basically it would be like a small tech community in bahirdar me and fili thought it would be nice to have something even if it's small. freinds who can learn with share opportunities minamn And the first step is just to gather know eachother minamn so We are doing that... so the meetup will be just coffee some games sharing experience then if we click up we'll hold more meetups 😁

Yesssss actually it' happens a looooooooot here's how I handle it firsy I have the mindset of "I'm in this shit so I must get out of this shit" there are a lot of resources out there YouTube, reddit, just plain google search, Ai I could just search what I want to do it's most likly that someone already had the problem and solved it so I would take from that ik sometime it sucks to learn some random thing out of the blue but who else would do it if not you so I would say just find a way to do it don't be afraid to ask for help and I'm sure if u came this long u can learn more and be the best at it

and Share yout journy don't be shy to post and learn in public it could be X , Linkidin or telegram bicha start sharing and good luck out there

Ok what I recomend you to learn the basics Color theory typography Spacing layout and then try to design as much as possible(take Menan's advice to steal great designs😁) and sharpen ur skill and develope a designer's eye if you do that I promise you with a short time you'll be a good UI/UX designer. And to address the other part about being worth it I would suggest you to study the market from my perspective it's really getting harder and harder for entry positions for various reasons (AI , just the sheer amount of designers out there )so you would have to be really amazing at it to get the most jobs and as carrer wise I think product design is bloooming and I suggest you to pick up vibe coding as well(being hypocrite here cuz I haven't learned vibe coding here🙏)

Oh I wish u asked me this few years ago I would tell you a lot nicer things about bahirdar but I'll try my best anyways. The best thing about bahirdar I would say is the city Tana the zenbabs ሀገሬው😂 bich the city looks good good to live things are cheaper compared to Adiss. Now let's talk about the elephant in the city Which is peace it's scary ngl you hear bullet sounds people being kidnnaped minamn which is really sad becase few years ago it was the a really peacful place but now it sucks and the አፈሳ part is getting concerning in here. the other bad thing I would say is it's not as robust as Adiss in the tech sector there are a few decent places you could work here but it's not enough really. so if u in tech and think of growing i don't think the city is for you maybe be አሳ አጥማጅ or something
