I just had an experience. I still have yet to figure out how to categorize it (terrifying, worst, scariest, or insightful, meaningful, revealing). I was left wondering, feeling slightly related, considerate and compassionate toward the people in wars and in places where their human rights were violated. I saw how ignorant I am of things unless I see and experience them firsthand, or think about them (even to the slightest), even if I can't do anything about it. I'm still not sure how to avoid being like that, or how to feel and care for such things in the world. There are plenty of situations far worse than this, I don't know what an individual like you or me can do about it, at least not clearly. Even within that ~one hour, I found myself thinking how I would want to express it, I was paying attention to how things were, how they made me feel, and how others would feel in far worse situations which weren't hard to imagine given what we hear in our country / the world. Be careful and have your ID at all times. Stay safe.
