you can love the project and still hate working on it. Here’s why ⬆️

been thinking about this for weeks, so I’m just gonna say it:

⚠️ never join a project without proper management. ⚠️

You need someone who keeps people accountable, tracks what’s happening, and actually understands the system at a high level... otherwise everyone just does their own thing, responsibilities get blurry, and when something goes wrong, the whole team gets dragged into it. i’m currently experiencing this myself and the funny thing is I genuinely love the project. it’s a completely different experience it’s challenging me to learn things I wouldn’t normally explore and i can actually feel myself growing through it. but sometimes... just thinking about the project is enough to drain me. not because i don’t enjoy the work but because the lack of structure around it takes away the energy i could be putting into learning and building. Learned my lesson. Never putting myself in a situation like this again. #lesson #team #project @yosephwon

ig the reason i’ve been so obsessed with her is that she was one of the first people who made me realize that working at big tech companies was actually possible for someone like me. And seeing her stand up to them when she disagreed with them made it even more meaningful. it showed me that we can make it that far too. #TimnitGebru

she’s honestly one of the people who dragged me deeper into tech. i remember back in the day, I used to get so inspired by her. i literally had a whole folder on my laptop filled with her interviews and talks, and whenever I lost motivation, I’d go back and watch them.
