It’s probably time to book that trip.
And if that feels like bad advice, maybe you needed it.
The responsible version of you can complain later.
We’ve all had that moment in real life.
You see someone and your brain just quietly goes:
“Don’t stare.
Be normal.
Look at the sky.
Look at a rock.
Look at literally anything else.”
And then, somehow, your eyes betray the entire committee.
It’s not even about being creepy.
It’s about self control.
And sometimes self control looks at a human being like this and says:
“Good luck, my friend.”
HEATWAVE mood of the day:
Some girls don’t haunt you in a dramatic way.
They just casually move into your brain and start paying no rent.
You’re trying to answer emails.
She’s there.
You’re making coffee.
Still there.
You’re watching something completely innocent and suddenly your brain goes:
“Remember her?”
Very annoying.
Very beautiful.
Very unfair.
Anyway.
This is why we need distractions.
Or more realistically…
better self control.
Some photos feel like the exact moment before someone says:
“okay so…”
And honestly, that is usually where the best stories begin.
Not the responsible ones.
Not the easy to explain ones.
Not the ones you tell your accountant.
The other kind.
The kind that starts with a laugh, a bad idea, too much sunlight, and someone who clearly did not come here to be forgettable.

HEATWAVE mood of the day:
Sometimes summer is not a season.
Sometimes it’s just a tiny bikini, a beach, and an amount of sand that raises several practical questions.
No deeper lesson today.
No grand philosophy.
No emotional breakthrough.
Just sun, skin, bad decisions, and the quiet understanding that some photos explain themselves perfectly well.
HEATWAVE mood of the day:
Be harder to forget this summer.
Not by trying too hard.
Not by explaining yourself.
Not by politely blending into the background.
Just show up with more confidence than last year.
More sun on your skin.
More stories worth telling.
More moments that make people think:
“Yeah, I’m probably going to remember this one.”
Honestly, this is the only out of office reply I respect.
No fake apologies.
Just one dramatic dive and a very clear message:
it can wait.
I’m sure there’s a beautiful sea view here.
Maybe even a boat.
Possibly some very important maritime context.
Unfortunately, the photo also contains one of the strongest arguments ever made against checking your phone at the wrong moment.
I have questions.
Why is he standing there like he just called a very serious business meeting?
Why is everyone else dressed like the meeting agenda is “summer has gone too far”?
And most importantly…
where do I apply for this job?
I’m sure there’s a very interesting engine in there somewhere.
Technically, this is classic car content.
Unfortunately, I have looked at the photo for 12 seconds and lost all credibility as a car reviewer.
Okay, important summer question.
If someone shows up at the beach holding watermelon like this, is it still considered a healthy snack…
or has the fruit officially become part of the problem?
Because I’m trying to behave, but this photo is not helping.
Some people leave the beach with sand in their bag.
Some people leave with sand in places that deserve their own postcard.
Summer is a beautiful, impractical thing.
This is what happens when summer finds a hose and absolutely no adult supervision.
Honestly, I’ve seen worse uses of water.
Some plans are sensible. This is not about those plans.
This is about the other kind. The ones that start with “what if we…” and somehow end with salt water, bad decisions, blurry photos, and one story everyone keeps bringing up months later.
Not everything has to be useful.
Some things just need to be stupid enough to become memorable.
For more questionable summer philosophy:
THATARNOLD.COM/HEATWAVE
Fruit is healthy.
Sunlight is healthy.
Lying naked in a pile of grapes might be harder to explain to your doctor, but spiritually, I support it.
Sometimes the whole philosophy fits into one tiny bikini string.
Less fabric.
More freedom.
Very questionable concentration levels.
Some sunsets don’t need a caption.
But unfortunately I have a Telegram channel, so here we are.
Anyway. Look at this and try not to romanticize your entire life for a minute.
