Remember,
The child in you;
The stars in the night sky you closed your eyes to,
like glitters shining deep in the black canvas of your thoughts
The touch of your fingertips you avoided,
on the sound of joy and laughter
The warmth of hope you forgot,
like a ray of light showing you the way through the void of the unknown
Remember the child in you,
She must be standing still
waiting patiently, calling out gently
Somewhere
For you.

A few nights ago I was reading "Beautiful world, where are you?" By Sally Rooney and I came across a chapter where one of the characters named Eileen was talking about how she hasn't felt the small pleasures of life in a long time. She says that she used to get excited by the smallest things and now she doesn't even notice them anymore. In her own words:
"People's faces, the weather, the traffic. The smell of petrol from the garage, the feeling of being rained on, completely ordinary things."
And then she continues on saying:
"And in that way even the bad days were good, because I felt them and remembered them. There was something delicate about living like that – like I was an instrument and the world touched me and reverberated inside me."

I remember there was a very brief moment in my life where I used to feel like the life itself, with all its opportunities and its rich experiences, was staring at me. that I was standing right in front it thinking that I could hold it in my hands and shape it however I'd like. I haven't felt that way in a long time. Now not only has life turned its back away from me, but I can't even seem to be able to see its whole figure anymore. Now, it feels like that I'm in the darkness and I'm just trying to push through it to maybe reach somewhere else.

Disco elysium was right; "The mask of humanity fall from capital. It has to take it off to kill everyone-- everything you love; all the hope and tenderness in the world. It has to take it off, just for one second. To do the deed."

you could've been a writer, a poet, a great filmmaker, a famous painter, an architect that has left their mark all over the city, an essayist or just nothing at all. I look at people around me and think about how they'll probably never be what they were truly meant for. they might achieve that when it's too late, when it's rotten. I cry for all this wasted potential that people are carrying on their backs all day. I cry because despite all that they are still sticking to their passion because that's all we have left. "I could've been wild and I could've been free".
